Warzone players have been hit with an ‘Account Verification Required’ pop-up, and if any of their details have changed, they’ve been completely locked out of Call of Duty. Not to worry though, as there’s a way to fix the issue and get back into CoD.

There’s nothing worse than errors preventing you from logging into Call of Duty: Warzone, but usually, there’s a relatively simple solution. However, players have been left stuck after the ‘Account Verification Required’ pop-up has locked them out of their account.

The issue seems to stem from you having a different phone number from the one that you used to create your account. Luckily, Blizzard support are familiar with the issue and can help you change your old number and drop back into Caldera and Rebirth Island.

How to fix Warzone Account Verification Required error & change phone number

After a Warzone player was hit with the Account Verification Required issue, Blizzard support stepped in to provide the solution. What you’ll need to do is send a ticket through their support website, and upload your ID if there’s no other way to verify that you are you.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Head to Blizzard’s support page and sign in
  2. If you don’t still have your old phone number, hit ‘Contact Us’
  3. Either use an Authenticator Code or click ‘Submit ticket with image of ID’
  4. Upload a clear image of your government-issued ID (you can check out what Blizzard will accept here)
  5. Wait for Blizzard to respond

The Twitter user confirmed that uploading their ID to Blizzard’s support page solved the issue, and they were able to get back to playing Warzone again.

Players have also reported that simply trying to log in to Warzone again will bypass the Account Verification Required issue, but we recommend changing your old phone number anyway to avoid any issues such as this in the future.
