Warzone error 48

Warzone players have been unable to log in after being hit by “Error code: 48” that tells them the “download has failed.” There are a few solutions you can try to fix to circumvent error code 48 and get back to Caldera and Rebirth Island.

Warzone has been hit with a number of game-breaking glitches and exploits in its time, and Warzone Season 2 Reloaded is no different. Regular updates like the April 6 patch have helped solve some problems, but there are still some lingering issues that players are running into.

An old problem has also reared its head again in the form of “error code: 48.” It’s believed that Warzone’s error code 48 is caused by your console not recognizing that there’s a new Warzone update to download.

While no solution is a guaranteed fix, here are some workarounds to fix Warzone’s error code 48.

How to fix Warzone error code 48 on PS4, PS5, Xbox & PC

While there’s no guaranteed solution to fixing error code 48 in Warzone, players have suggested a few possible fixes, ranging from simple to extreme.

Here are all of the solutions we recommend you try:

  1. Follow the in-game instruction to ‘Go Offline’ then go online again
  2. Check Warzone for updates
  3. Restart your console or PC
  4. Competely uninstall then reinstall Warzone

Go Offline then Online again

The first solution to fixing Warzone’s error code 48 is to follow the in-game instruction to ‘Go Offline.’ Then after you go online again, the update should then begin to download and you’ll be able to play afterward.

Check Warzone for updates

If going Offline doesn’t work, we recommend you Check for Updates. You can do this on any console or PC by pressing Options over Modern Warfare/Warzone, and clicking on ‘Check for Updates.’ This might force your system to recognize there’s a new Warzone update.

Restart your console or PC

Another simple solution is to power down your console or PC and boot it back up. This may fix any issue preventing your system from recognizing that there’s a new Warzone update.

Uninstall then reinstall Warzone

Finally, you can completely uninstall Warzone if the error code persists. We wouldn’t recommend this as, depending on your internet connection, it could take hours to redownload. But if you’re completely out of options, this is the way to go.

Error code 48 is only one of a few error codes that have plagued Warzone in the past, with the “Content package is no longer available” bug and the Status Goldflake error stopping players from dropping into Caldera.

Once you’re logged back in, you can check out the best weapons in Warzone after the health increase.
