Unbeknownst to many players, Call of Duty does have several free skins for some of its many guns. Our quick guide will help to acquire them in Black Ops Cold War Season 4.

The CoD store has tons of Operators, Bundles, and various other cosmetics for players to purchase and use to customize their loadouts and characters. There are even additional goodies that are locked behind the Season’s respective Season Pass too.

But every now and again the store does contain a bundle or skin that Cold War players can claim free of charge. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 4 does have some of these right now, and this is how you get can them for yourself.

In Season 4, it’s possible for players to redeem a free skin for the M1911 Pistol, Type 63 Tactical Rifle, and the LW3 Tundra Sniper Rifle.

Claiming them isn’t particularly taxing, and you should have no problem owning them very quickly to use.

To unlock these free weapon skins in Cold War Season 4, simply:

  1. Start Black Ops Cold War
  2. Go to the main menu
  3. Head to ‘Create a Class’
  4. Select each weapon
  5. Choose the ‘Shop’ option
  6. Scroll through them until you find the skins marked ‘Free’

They will be added to your library of cosmetics for that weapon, and you can manually apply these skins to the respective guns. They may not be as obviously flashy as the Thrust Engine Blueprint for instance, but skins are a nice change of pace from conventional unlockable camos.

If any more free skins do become available to purchase, then we’ll be sure to update this guide to let you know.
