How to get a PS5 or Xbox Series X – Holiday 2020 Guide

Nicholas Sakadelis

Here’s how you can get your hands on a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S this holiday season.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are the most in-demand items of the holiday season. Stock virtually flies off the shelves, and inventories seem to run dry within mere seconds of every restock.

If you missed the original PlayStation 5 and Xbox pre-order window, you’re most likely in a situation where you are scrambling to find a system to purchase.

Don’t fret quite yet; there are still some ways to get one before the new year, if luck permits. Here are some ways to get these systems.

Stock Checker Accounts

Accounts on social media offer bots that automatically notify you when stock is available for the PlayStation 5 or Series X. It may trigger a false positive on occasion. Still, it’s mostly accurate and beneficial.

Here are our picks for stock checking accounts:

Be sure to turn on notifications for all accounts to be notified as soon as you follow them so you never miss a drop!

Where to buy

There’s nothing more annoying than trying to purchase a product with a laggy website just to figure out the product is in stock. Most retailers have fixed this issue, but we highly recommend buying a PS5 or Xbox from Best Buy if you can.

Best Buy has a queue system where you will enter a digital line. Stock will be added periodically, and if they have enough stock depending on when you added the product to your cart, you will get your console.

It’s a stress-free system that’s straight forward. Instead of spamming “add to cart” you’ll be able to sit back and wait.

Drops for the system should pop up periodically throughout the week. Keep an eye on stock checkers and retailers for announcements regarding more inventory.
