New free Apex Legends Wraith skin with Twitch Prime

A new Queen of Hearts Wraith skin is available for free to Apex Legends players with a Prime Gaming subscription in January 2021. Here’s how you can get this brand new Twitch skin for yourself.

The Fight Night Collection event brought a plethora of brand new bug fixes, buffs, nerfs, and quality-of-life updates to Apex Legends, along with some new cosmetics. Now a new skin has become available for Wraith players during January 2021.

If you’re an Apex fan that has a subscription to Prime Gaming (previously known as Twitch Prime), then you can get yourselves a brand-new Wraith skin known as the Queen of Hearts. All you have to do is follow a few easy instructions.

How to get Wraith’s Queen of Hearts Prime Gaming skin for free

The first thing that you should note is that if you’ve got a subscription to Amazon Prime, then you don’t need to sign up for anything else. This already makes you a Prime Gaming subscriber, so you’re eligible to receive the new free skin.

Here’s how you can make sure that you you can get Wraith’s Queen of Hearts Prime Gaming skin on January 14, 2021, when it releases:

  1. Log in to the Prime Gaming website
  2. Visit the Apex Legends section
  3. Click “Claim Now” on the Queen of Hearts skin when it goes live
  4. The skin will then become available in your in-game inventory

That’s all you need to do in order to acquire this exclusive new look for Wraith. Once you’ve got it, you can make the Legend resemble a queen of hearts playing card. This makes the skin look unique, and aesthetically cool.

If your EA account is not linked with Twitch already then you will have to link the two at the EA website before you can claim it.

At the moment, this skin can only be received by subscribers of Prime Gaming, and won’t become available for other players anytime soon. This is normally the case with other skins on this platform as well, so it’s not surprising.

Recently, Prime Gaming also granted its subscribers access to the Inverse Polarity skin for Horizon up until December 28. At the time of writing, how long the Wraith skin will remain available, but we’ll be sure to update you once we do.

Wraith is one of the most popular Legends among the Apex community, so releasing a new exclusive skin for her is a nice gesture. Make sure you get your hands on it when it releases on January 14, 2021.

Apex Legends players slam “joke” $10 Holospray

Apex Legends players are slamming the developers for introducing an “overpriced” Holospray in the battle royale.

Nessie Holospray in Apex Legends

Respawn Entertainment often introduce new cosmetic items in Apex Legends, but players aren’t happy with a new Holospray that they consider to be overpriced.

There are various unique characters and weapons to choose from in Apex Legends, and you can customize these with some neat cosmetics, including new skins, heirlooms, and Holosprays.

Some of these items are more popular than others, and a few of them sometimes leave players scratching their heads. Now, a new Holospray has been revealed and Apex fans aren’t happy with it.

Reddit user the_best_wraith_main showcased a new Apex Legends Holospray that’s available for purchase. It seems to be Nessie wearing a golden crown while sitting on top of a throne.

While this is a fun little cosmetic, the player was upset about the high price of the item. “10 dollars for this Holospray? Is this some joke that I can’t understand?” asked the Redditor.

Many of the commenters were in agreement that $10 seems a bit too pricey for a simple Holospray and began slamming the developers for this decision.

Many players were quick to blame EA for this and mentioned that you could previously get much more for this price. “Remember when 10 pounds allowed you to get prime titans,” wrote one user.

Other commenters stated that these decisions are made by Respawn and not EA while advising players to not buy overpriced items. Despite this, a few users still appreciated the art on the Holospray.

There was also a little Nessie emote in Season 9, and you could actually see the monster come out of the water in the original King’s Canyon map. So, it’s fitting that developers made a Holospray for the beast.

When is cross-progression coming to Apex Legends?

Apex Legends has crossplay for Xbox, PC, and PlayStation. Find out if can transfer your progress around all the systems and platforms.

Apex Legends has crossplay available on pretty much every platform, with a Mobile version soon to be released publicly. Now there is one thing on players’ minds – Apex Legends cross-progression, and can you do it?

Since the original launch of Apex Legends in February 2019, the game has made many strides towards catching up with competitors Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone. First, it began with its cosmetic store & seasonal battle pass system, capitalizing on its free-to-play status with microtransactions for players.

Next up, it launched its crossplay system on October 6, 2020 – uniting players across consoles and PC. The crossplay system is different from competitors since PC players will only still be placed against other PC players.

Forwarding to the present, players are merging across platforms, but can they also merge their accounts and progress across different platforms?

What is cross-progression in Apex Legends and does Apex have it?

So for players jumping across platforms, will your progression follow you? The short answer is no. Currently, there is no way to have your Apex Legends rank, profile, cosmetics, Legend unlocks, and skins follow you to another platform.

The only exception is changing between the Origin launcher to Steam on PC, where you will have your data transfer over.

Potential release date for Apex Legends cross-progression

There is good news for players who are still waiting for cross-progression to come to Apex Legends. It still appears to be on the developer’s to-do list, with Respawn’s Game Director Chad Grenier commenting on the subject in a Reddit post.

“It’s something we are very passionate about, and we’re looking at our options available. Much harder post-launch since users may have multiple accounts to merge or use. Easier with Steam because it’s at launch. We’ll give an update when we have something to talk about” said Grenier.

Based on Grenier’s comment, it appears that Cross Progression has a chance to come in the future, but it is currently a difficult task for the team due to users who have multiple accounts across platforms.

For those cases, it looks like Respawn might offer an account merge option of some type, which may be tricky for them to implement back end.

Since these comments, there has been a further update on the situation by Chad Grenier, who stated in another Reddit AMA that “it’s still a ways off.”

Hopefully, the devs can figure out how to implement cross-progression into Apex Legends. This would make life much easier for those who wish to change the platform without sacrificing their account data.

The Apex Legends Evolution Collection event added plenty of fresh content to Respawn’s battle royale, but it also brought with it some serious connectivity issues. The devs have now launched a patch to “meaningfully address” the issues.

Apex Legends Season 10: Emergence has been a hit among the community, with streamers like Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff even leaving Warzone in favor of Reswpan’s take on the battle royale.

But the latest season hasn’t been without its problems. The Evolution Collection event accidentally introduced a number of connectivity issues in the game.

After a lengthy wait, the developers have announced that a patch to help ease the issues is now live.

Ever since the Evolution Event came to the game on September 14, players began reporting issues with the connection in their lobbies that were making the game “unplayable.”

Server issues have been causing players to lag in matches, and in some cases even be teleported to completely different parts of the map. There have also been reports of extremely high pings when joining a game, as well as packet loss.

Respawn confirmed on their Twitter page that a patch is now live to tackle the problems. While they don’t claim that the update will completely fix all connection issues, it will make noticeable improvements.

Many Reddit users have confirmed a much more stable experience since the update was launched.

The developer also mentioned that they are aware of a new problem where animated banner poses are causing games to crash. A solution for this, as well as other general fixes, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21.

In a later tweet, Respawn thanked the community for its patience while they worked on fixing the issues plaguing the game. They added that they were “making progress” in solving the “higher-than-normal” crashes being reported.

As always, stay tuned on Charlie INTEL for the latest news on bugs and patches.
