V-Bucks allow Fortnite players to unlock their favorite cosmetics and items. Here’s how you can get some V-Bucks for free in Fortnite.

Skins and outfits in Fortnite are purely cosmetic in nature implying that they do not provide players with a competitive advantage. However, they are the only way through which one can show off their experience and playstyle.

The Fortnite community loves purchasing V-Bucks and spending them on cosmetics and the Battle Pass. There are a handful of credible ways that grant this in-game currency for free, and this guide will cover them all.

How to get free V-Bucks from the Fortnite Battle Pass

The Fortnite Battle Pass now has a unique Battle Star system. Instead of 100 tiers, the pass has 10 pages with 10 rewards each. Players get Battle Stars upon leveling up and they can spend them on cosmetics that they love the most.

Luckily, each Battle Pass page hands out three free rewards which include 300 V-Bucks as well. To unlock a Battle Pass page, F2P players must reach a certain XP level:

  • Lv. 10 to unlock Page 1
  • Lv. 20 to unlock Page 2, and so on until Lv. 100 to unlock Page 10

This means that you can collect 300 free V-Bucks every season and after 3-4 seasons, you’ll have enough currency to purchase the paid Battle Pass that costs 950 V-Bucks. The paid version hands out 1500 V-Bucks upon reaching Lv. 100.

Fortnite Competitive tournaments free V-Bucks rewards

Official Fortnite tournaments hosted by Epic Games no longer offer V-Bucks as a reward to the pros. However, tournaments hosted by third-party organizers can surely provide virtual currency to the winners.

Usually, content creators and companies host these tournaments. It is advised to always double-check the authenticity of a tournament that promises you free V-Bucks. Under no circumstances should you provide your Epic Games account’s login details to anyone else.

Free V-Bucks from Redeem Codes and Twitch drops

Redeem codes are rare but legit. On certain occasions like a LAN event or a collaboration, Epic Games releases codes that one can redeem on the official website and get cosmetics and V-Bucks in return.

There aren’t any Fortnite redeem codes available in July 2022. We’ll make sure to update this article if the developers announce them anytime soon.

During FNCS and other competitive tournaments that bring in a lot of viewers, Epic Games often partners with Twitch and players get free rewards for watching the live streams. Although indirectly, these cosmetics can be perceived as free V-Bucks.

Fortnite Save the World free V-Bucks

Even though Fortnite Save the World is not free-to-play, it is one of the best ways to farm V-Bucks that can be used in the Battle Royale mode too. The STW community is divided into two factions: Founders and Non-Founders.

Fortnite Save the World

As the names suggest, Founders are players who bought Save the World soon after its release (before June 29, 2020) and anyone who purchased it beyond this date is a Non-Founder. Founders get V-Bucks for logging in daily and can amass over 10,000 V-Bucks in less than a year.

Completing quests and Storm Shield Defense Missions in Save the World grants V-Bucks and even Non-Founders can make the most of it. To be fair, the V-Bucks rewards from Save the World significantly outweigh the price you’ll have to pay for the PvE multiplayer game.

As always, refrain from visiting suspicious websites and handing over your login details for free V-Bucks.

Having said that, free rewards such as sprays, skins, and other cosmetics are constantly released in Fortnite. For instance, the Refer-a-Friend challenges have returned in Chapter 3 Season 3 and a free Xander skin is up for grabs.
