After a hard-fought season, the top eight Call of Duty League teams are going to Champs to decide 2022’s winner. The next season will be played on Modern Warfare 2, and there are beta codes up for grabs just for watching the event. Here’s how to earn them.

The ever-popular Modern Warfare franchise returns with MW2 on October 28, bringing a globe-trotting campaign, Warzone 2.0, and a rumored Tarkov-inspired DMZ mode. Players are desperate to try out the multiplayer, and they’ll get their first taste ahead of launch with the beta.

Those who pre-order Modern Warfare 2 can get early access to the beta, but if you’re more of a ‘try before you buy’ kind of player, you can get early access through beta codes given out for watching the Call of Duty League Champs 2022.

How to get Modern Warfare 2 beta code by watching CDL Champs

After linking your Call of Duty and YouTube accounts, watching live CDL matches on Championship Sunday (August 7) will put your hat in the ring to get one of 50,000 Modern Warfare 2 beta codes.

These are random drops, so be sure to check your notifications on the CDL website or the CoD Companion app to see if you’ve been granted one.

That’s not the only viewership reward available on Championship Sunday, as players can also earn the Champs Ring as a Weapon Charm, an Automaton Blueprint, and the Down to the Wire Operator — just for watching two hours of gameplay.

Plus, if you’re attending the Championship Sunday at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, you’ll be guaranteed a beta code.

Here’s how to link your Call of Duty and YouTube accounts to be in with a chance of earning a Modern Warfare 2 beta code:

  1. Open YouTube.com or the YouTube app
  2. Select your profile photo in the top right and hit Settings
  3. Head to Connected Apps
  4. Locate Activision ID and click on Connect
  5. Sign in to your Activision account

Once connected, make sure you’re watching the CDL matches live through YouTube or the Call of Duty League website. We recommend watching through the CDL website as you can track your viewership reward progress and see the notification if you earn a beta code.

Activision haven’t confirmed when the beta will take place, but leaks and rumors suggest sometime in September. We’ll be sure to keep you posted, including how to watch the multiplayer reveal once we have an official date.
