How to gift Warzone & Black Ops Cold War Battle Pass
Call of Duty’s May 4 Weekly Briefing introduces a new way for players to gain access to the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Battle Pass through gifting.
As well as the ’80s Action Hero event in the Season 3 Reloaded update, Call of Duty has also introduced a new Fireteam Elimination mode in Black Ops Cold War multiplayer and revealed future plans for combating toxicity in the community.
On top of all this new content, the latest weekly briefing has also revealed a way for players to gift the battle pass for both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War so let’s get into how it works.
The Call of Duty weekly briefing was released today, revealing Rambo’s gun game for Cold War, Warzone tournaments, and Battle Pass gifting.
The brief gave players a detailed explanation of how gifting the battle pass works, potentially allowing many more players to access the Battle Pass content through friends, family, or even content creators in giveaways and competitions.
How to gift the Warzone and Cold War Battle Pass
Gifting the Battle Pass is as simple as it sounds, but Call of Duty has details on exactly how it’s done for those unsure. Firstly, you must make sure you purchase the Battle Pass as a gift, which is done through the companion app:
“Battle Pass Gifting is where you can give friends the incredible value of the current season’s Battle Pass via the Call of Duty Companion App. Upon gifting your friend a Battle Pass, they will visit the Battle Pass tab in-game and redeem their gifted Battle Pass Token. This unlocks Tier 0 of that season’s Battle Pass and gives them the opportunity to earn all 100 Tiers of content, such as Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, and more.”
One small detail players must have completed before using the Battle Pass gifting system is the two-factor authentication. Make sure this is turned on before you try to purchase the Battle Pass as a gift. Although it is recommended, the giftee does not need to have this step completed to redeem the Battle Pass.
It is also important to note that there is a gifting limit of three Battle Passes per day, and “the gifter and giftee must be Activision friends for at least seven days for the Battle Pass Gift to work.”
There you have it. That’s how you can gift the Battle Pass in Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. For more, check out our recent article on Warzone’s ping mechanic nerf in Season 3.
