The legendary extra-terrestrial species Predator has arrived in Fortnite Season 5. He’s not come alone though as he’s brought with him a Cloak Device that players can use for invisibility.

Fortnite has offered varying degrees of invisibility in its game before. Examples include the bush that players could equip, outfits that blended in with the environment, and most recently salt that you could burrow around in underground.

However, these faux attempts at full concealment are nothing compared to Predator’s new Cloak Device. If players are able to obtain it, then they have a bonafide method of becoming practically see-through.

For a piece of sophisticated technology from a foreign part of the universe, Predator’s alien technology is surprisingly accessible to all.

Once you have your hands on the Cloak Device, all you need to do is simply activate the item, and you’ll instantly turn invisible. It should be noted that your outline can still be faintly seen. But from a distance, you are a mere blur to the naked eye.

The item possess the following stats:

  • Cooldown: 30 seconds
  • Duration: 30 seconds
  • Exit Duration: 1 second
  • Expire Alert: last 5 seconds
  • NPC can go transparent too for 15 sec & 30 sec cooldown

Here’s the device in action thanks to HYPEX.

If you draw a weapon then your cloaking phase will be interrupted immediately. The Cloak is designed to allow you to escape from an enemy or provide a brief respite.

Predator’s Cloak Device seems to provide a bit more privacy than the Shadow Stones did – a previous item in Fortnite that offered some invisibility. However, they proved to be very buggy and never maintained a constant spot in Fortnite due to this.

There is plenty more Predator content to come and we’ve been able to see all the leaked Predator cosmetics that are scheduled for Fortnite.

Stay tuned for more information on Predator and future characters being added to Season 5.
