How to place every item on Recon Drones in Warzone

Warzone players have discovered a surprising number of uses for the Recon Drone, including combining it with a Trophy System.

YouTube channel DefendTheHouse is popular for its gaming ‘Mythbusters’ series in which it tests ‘myths’ from video games. The series ‘Warzone Mythbusters’ tests everything you can and can’t do in Warzone, often with surprising results.

In the latest episode, they tested every item to see what you can or cannot put on a Recon Drone with some surprising results. Here’s what they discovered and some situations in which you can maximize the Recon Drone’s potential.

Placing lethal equipment

Warzone players have known for some time that you can place C4, Claymores and even a Throwing Knife on a Recon Drone. If you get a teammate to place a piece of lethal equipment on top of a Recon Drone, you can pilot the Recon Drone towards an enemy for a ranged kill.

The C4 strategy takes teamwork and timing to pull off. Fly the drone loaded with C4 towards an unsuspecting enemy and once you’re close enough, give them the green light to detonate the charges.

Usually a defensive piece of equipment, the Claymore can be used offensively when combined with the Recon Drone. If a teammate places a Claymore on top of a Recon Drone, simply fly the drone towards an enemy until they are within the Claymore’s lethal range.

Placing non-lethal equipment

The team at DefendTheHouse discovered that Trophy Systems, Munitions Boxes and Armor Boxes can all be placed on top of a Recon Drone. There are some situations when taking advantage of the Recon Drone’s full potential will net you a win in Verdansk.

Trophy Systems are most commonly placed on top of vehicles to protect them from explosives and to hold down buildings in the final zone. A Trophy System placed on top of a Recon Drone can be extremely effective for offensive players.

If a player or team are defending a building, lead your push with a flying Trophy System. This will both distract the enemy and defend against any explosives the enemies try to use against you. If you can fly the Trophy System close enough towards an enemy, their destroyed explosives can even damage them.

You can place either a Munitions Box or an Armor Box on top of a Recon Drone (they do not stack). There’s a couple uses for this in Warzone. This is very situational but if a teammate is separated from the team and out of either ammo or armor, you can fly what they need out to them.

Munitions Boxes are explosive. Similar to how you would use a Trophy System, fly a Munitions Box towards enemies and as they try to destroy the drone, the Munitions Box will explode, dealing high explosive damage.
