In FIFA 23, players can use AFC Richmond, the team from the popular TV series Ted Lasso. For those interested, here’s how you can play as Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond in FIFA 23’s Career Mode and Ultimate Team.

FIFA 23 is officially here, and while some may be digging their teeth into the illustrious Ultimate Team mode, building their team and perhaps even trying their luck with TOTW players in packs, others prefer the single-player experience with Career Mode.

Along with various new leagues and stadiums, FIFA 23 also brought some new teams into the game. One of these teams is Ted Lasso’s AFC Richmond from the popular Apple TV show, Ted Lasso.

Of course, players can choose the team in Quick Play and Online Seasons by simply finding the team under Rest of the World.

However, players can also play as Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team and Career Mode, as well as play on their home ground, the Nelson Road Stadium. For those interested, here’s a guide on how to do so.

How to play as Ted Lasso & AFC Richmond in FIFA 23 Career Mode

  1. Enter Career Mode on EA’s FIFA 23.
  2. Select “Play As Real Manager” above the “Create New Manager” option.
  3. Head to the “Rest of World” and scroll until you find Ted Lasso.
  4. Select Ted Lasso, complete the customization options, select AFC Richmond as the team you wish to use, and also the league you wish to play in.
  5. Begin your career as AFC Richmond’s manager!

The AFC Richmond squad features players from the TV series with a rating based on the show, which is pretty cool to see, especially if you’re a fan of the show.

The team features Captain Roy Kent, Danny Rojas, Jamie Tartt, and plenty of the other squad members from the show.

The ratings aren’t too bad either, so you may want to put this team straight into the Premier League, which would make sense considering they were promoted to the Premier League in the show.

If you wish to join the ranks at AFC Richmond instead of being the manager, here’s how to do so:

  1. Enter Career Mode and select “Create New Player.”
  2. Customize your player and hit “Advance.”
  3. Pick a team to replace in the league you want to start in and press “Swap Team.”
  4. Pick AFC Richmond under Rest of World.
  5. Adjust the settings and “Advance.”
  6. Start your Career Mode.
