An upcoming free trial period for Modern Warfare 2 will give CoD fans the opportunity to experience the fastest-selling title in the Call of Duty franchise. The Season 5 Reloaded update has introduced a wealth of fresh content for players to explore, along with new dates for a free trial period.

Activision periodically hand out free access trials to entice new players to experience the latest Call of Duty. The next free access period for Modern Warfare 2 will allow players to check out the multiplayer mode with Season 5 content in the spotlight.

Here’s everything you need to know about the next free access period for Modern Warfare 2.

When is the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer free trial?

Activision confirmed that the next Modern Warfare 2 free access period will occur from September 13 to September 20, 2023. Players can expect free access to begin and end as of 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM UK.

This will let players try MW2 for an entire week, completely free of charge. Additionally, Activision have announced players will be limited to 2.5 in-match hours during this free access period.

This will give Call of Duty fans plenty of time to test out Modern Warfare 2 for free. Multiplayer free access for Modern Warfare 2 will likely come and go throughout its seasons, so we’ll let you know when to expect the next one.

Modern Warfare 2 free access content

As for the MW2 free access content, players will be able to dive into 12 multiplayer maps including Puntar Mar and the new Season 5 DRC – Zone 1 map, as well as the fan-favorite Shipment. In addition, 11 modes will be available to players, featuring Season 5’s Havoc.

• Hardcore Modes: Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Grind
• Party Modes: Infected, Gun Game, Havoc
• Battle Map Modes: Ground War, Invasion

How to download Modern Warfare 2 free access

To play Modern Warfare 2 for free during the free access period, you need to find the game in your platform’s store.

Here’s how to download Modern Warfare 2 free access once it’s available on September 13:

1. Go to your respective console’s store – PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc.
2. Search for “Modern Warfare 2 Free Access” on console or look for the “Play Free” button on PC.
