The Apex Legends Season 22 Battle Pass has gone through some major changes which were announced before the season started. Players were unhappy with the initial changes Respawn had planned to make, but the studio took a step back to help players rank up fast and earn the Premium pass a little easier.

There are a lot of rewards to gain from getting through the Battle Pass this season, so here’s everything you need to know about the changes, how to get the Pass, and how to rank it up fast.

How to get Apex Legends Shockwave Premium Battle Pass

You can get the Apex Legends Shockwave Premium Battle Pass by purchasing it from the in-game store for $10 or completing challenges to earn it for free.

In Split 2, you’ll be able to use your usual 950 Apex Coins to buy the Pass, but this is not possible in Split 1. However, you can earn the Premium Battle Pass for free by completing six challenges:

  • Play 2 matches of Trios in E-District
  • Deal 1000 damage as a Recon Legend
  • Open 15 supply bins
  • Deal 500 damage with Akimbos in BR
  • Complete 10 levels of the Battle Pass

You must complete the challenges before the end of Split 1 to unlock the Premium Battle Pass, otherwise, you won’t be able to earn it for free. Different rewards will be available for the Split 2 Pass, so make sure to unlock this one before it disappears.

Complete challenges

The easiest way to rank the Battle Pass up quickly is to complete challenges, which subsequently also let you unlock the Premium Pass in the first Split. All you need to do is click on the challenges tab to see which ones you need to complete.

Challenges can be tracked by clicking on the challenge while you’re in the menu, so you can see how far you are when you complete matches.

If you have a class-specific challenge and you aren’t sure what Legends to play, you can check which characters are in the class you need by going to the Legend Locker tab and each will be listed under their relevant classes.

Play matches

Although this one may seem obvious, consistently playing the game will also level up your Battle Pass, not just your account level.

If you’re serious about reaching the end of the Battle Pass, you will need to play consistently throughout the season, trying out all the different game modes.

Playing matches will also complete daily and weekly challenges passively even if you’re not trying to complete them, which is nice if you are someone who prefers to play rather than focus on challenges.

You can gain the most XP in a match by killing the Champions, placing high in the lobby, and preferably winning many games, as this is how you will receive the most XP. On the other hand, doing things like leaving matches before the full squad has died will hinder your XP.

Buy Battle Pass tiers

Lastly, you can also buy Battle Pass tiers for 90 Apex Coins. This is the quickest way to level the Battle Pass, but it may end up costing you quite a bit to get all levels and rewards.

The Apex Legends Battle Pass gives you a ton of rewards to make your game look and feel better. Before you head into matches, though, be sure to know the best Legends and weapons this season, and have a look at the new Battle Sense mechanic and how it can help you in games.
