A feature from Black Ops Cold War has returned in Vanguard in that the green dot to signify unlocks is back. Unlike Cold War though, you can get rid of them in Vanguard, and our quick guide will show you how.

Sometimes, it’s the small details that can grate on a player’s nerves, and this proved to be the case in 2020’s Black Ops Cold War with many fans frustrated by the game showing green dots to suggest new equipment was available when sometimes it wasn’t.

The worst part is that these green dots couldn’t be removed and players were forced to contend with them on their loadout and home screens. Sledgehammer Games has fixed this issue for Vanguard, and we’ll show you how to turn them off.

To stop those pesky green dots from showing up on your various menu screens, particularly the tabs at the top, you just need to press the L3/LS button to clear them.

Sledgehammer Games offers you a bit of control in how you want to remove the green dots as you can get rid of select ones that are bothering you.

For example, if you’ve just finished a session of Vanguard and have new weapons, Perks, or attachments to check, but don’t want a green dot telling you about unlocked Operators, then here’s how you can remove them:

  1. Decide if you want to remove all green dots or just ones from a certain section
  2. If you want to remove them all, go to the main lobby menu with all the tabs at the top
  3. On each tab with a green dot, click the L3 button on PlayStation and LS on XBox
  4. This will ‘clear’ all the green dots from that section
  5. Or, you can go on each individual tab and press to clear individual aspects that you don’t want showing

And just like that, you should now be free of green dots in Vanguard and you can now sit back and admire your cleaner main menu.
