The PS5 may offer the easiest way to stream to Twitch out of any console generation.

The new PlayStation 5 launched today, November 12, and players are eager to show off their new consoles. There will undoubtedly be pages upon pages of Twitch streams with “PS5” in the title, but you don’t need a capture card and PC to share your gameplay with your community.

Sony released a blog post upon the release of the PlayStation 5 on November 12, telling players how easy it is to stream on Twitch with their new console. Of course, the first step in streaming is creating a Twitch profile and connecting it to your PlayStation account.

From there, streaming on Twitch is as easy as hitting the “Create” button on your DualSense controller.

To activate and link your accounts, you’ll first need to hit the “create” button and view the code to your stream. You can scan the QR code on the Twitch app, or input the code on Twitch.TV/activate.

Those who have already linked their accounts on PS4 can skip this step, as their profiles should have transferred with the rest of your information. You’ll need to enable two-factor authentication to link your accounts, but you should already have enabled this feature if you’re transferring your account from your old PlayStation 4.

To start your stream, all you need to do is hit the “Create” button on your controller and navigate to the “Broadcast” option. Then, select Twitch when asked which platform on which you’d like to stream.

You can choose a title for your stream, add a camera, and choose your preferred overlay before going live – all from the PS5 interface. To end the stream, press the same Create button and choose the “End Broadcast” option.

Hopefully, the new PlayStation 5 is your first step towards a newfound hobby – or even career – streaming on Twitch. Good luck!
