How to unlock Heirlooms in Apex Legends

Apex Legends Heirlooms are among the rarest items that you can find in the Battle Royale game. Here’s everything you need to know about them.

Apex Legends players frequently try to unlock special cosmetic items for their characters, but none are rarer than Heirlooms. Respawn have added more of these to the game overtime, so you have a better chance of unlocking them.

Apex Legends has a plethora of amazing collectible content such as cosmetics. Some of the rarest items types that players frequently seek are Heirlooms. These unlockable cosmetic items are basically unique melee weapons for Legends.

These items are extremely hard to obtain. You have a less than 1% chance of getting them with every Apex Pack that you acquire. So you’ll have to be extremely lucky to get one without spending money on it.

Here’s everything you need to know about Apex Legends Heirlooms, including how you can unlock them for yourself in the game.

Mirage's Heirloom in Apex Legends

How many Heirlooms are in Apex Legends?

Initially, only one Legend had an Heirloom in the game, and that was Wraith. This was the case for a while after Apex Legends first launched, but then Respawn slowly brought more items for different characters in the game.

So far seven of the Legends have their own Heirlooms in the game, which come with their own unique items. Here are all of them:

  • Wraith – Kunai (A black blade with a glowing purple edge)
  • Bloodhound – Raven’s Bite (An axe with a glowing red edge)
  • Lifeline – Shock Sticks (A pair of defibrillator sticks)
  • Pathfinder  – Boxing Gloves (Blue boxing gloves with screens on them)
  • Octane – Butterfly Knife (A green knife with Octane’s signature stim)
  • Mirage – Too Much Witt (A golden trophy of Mirage)
  • Caustic – Death Hammer (A hammer shaped like a skull, equipped with gas)

Each of these is tailored specifically to their respective Legends, and look cool when equipped.

How to unlock Heirlooms

Initially, you would unlock Heirlooms by opening Apex packs, but you’d still only have a less than 1% chance of scoring one with each pack. You’d have to purchase 500 packs to ensure that you’d get an item, but the overall process worked at complete random.

However, the developers implemented a Heirloom Shard system from February 2020. Now you can save up the shards you receive to unlock a Heirloom set. This way you won’t have to worry about the spontaneous nature of the the process.

You can acquire Heirloom Shards by opening Apex Packs. You can earn packs by leveling up your account, but they are also available for purchase at $1.00 per pack. If you’re not willing to pay, then just keep playing until you eventually get one.

Heirlooms in Collection Events

Apex Legends collection events often unveil new Heirlooms as well. You unlock it by collecting all 24 items in the collection during the event.

After the event ends, the Heirloom will become part of the new season of Apex Legends. At that point, you will be able to obtain that item with shards, or in Apex packs.

If a new Heirloom is revealed in the upcoming Fight Night collection event, then it will be the third one to be introduced Season 7, following those of Gibraltar and Bangalore. If you’re willing to collect the items at the event, then you might bag yourself this rare collectible.

That covers everything you need to know about Heirlooms in Apex Legends. These items extremely difficult to acquire, which is why they’re highly sought after. So try getting one for yourself and who knows? You might just get lucky.

Wraith buff & new hop-ups coming in Apex Legends Season 9

Dataminers and the community have noticed a potential Wraith buff for season 9, as well as some new Hop-ups.

The new video celebrating 100 million players may have revealed a possible Wraith buff for Season 9, while the latest leaks also point towards some new Hop-ups that players could be seeing soon.

In the celebration video posted by @PlayApex, it seems it wasn’t just teasers of the Olympus map changes and new Legend, Valk.

The video may have also teased a Wraith buff, which a lot of the community believe is well needed since her changes in the previous few patches.

During the end portion of the video, a short clip is seen of Wraith entering her Phase Walk ability without much of a delay. Since taking some serious nerfs in Season 5, Season 6, and the current Season 8 patch, it seems Wraith mains finally have something to look forward to.

These past patches changed her Naruto run animation, increased the time it takes to enter her tactical ability, and also increased the size of her hit-box. This was ultimately because of her extremely high win rate compared to other Legends, so the devs saw it necessary to give her a nerf.

If this snippet in the new celebration video is true, this could see Wraith back at the top. Having the ability to instantly enter her Phase Walk is like a get-out-of-jail-free card.

New Hop-ups

Apex Legends data miner @Shrugtal also leaked a new Hop-up entering the game possibly in Season 9 for the RE-45 and the Alternator.

The leaked Hop-up is called “Armorsmith” in the game files, and could potentially level up your Evo Shields faster.

To have this kind of Hop-up on non-meta guns is a great idea as it would see both experienced and less experienced players benefit from using guns that aren’t necessarily the best of the bunch, increasing player-gun variety.

Another leaked Hop-up is the Marksman’s Tempo, which would complement the leaked Marksman category coming to Apex Legends in the future.

The new Marksman category was leaked by @Biast12 and will feature the G7-Scout, 30-30 Repeater, and the upcoming Compound Bow. These will be the guns that may potentially benefit from this new Hop-up.

The Hop-up is said to increase the rate of fire upon a successful shot, a very clever idea. With the new Compound Bow coming to the game soon, this could make for a very good Hop-up to get people using the new weapon.

New Hop-ups does mean we could potentially be seeing some current ones get put in the archive, much like we have seen for the Disrupter Rounds, Select Fire, and Double Tap.

Apex Legends Pariah abilities & release date leaks

Apex Legends have been speculating about the upcoming character Pariah for a while, and some new leaks have revealed the Legend’s abilities.

Pariah abilities leaked for Apex Legends

Some new details have emerged about a previously leaked Apex Legends character known as Pariah, and we now know what the Legend’s abilities will be in the battle royale.

Apex Legends fans first became aware of Pariah through a major leak right before Season 7. Not a lot of information was revealed about the character as they were represented by yellow and purple dummies and had no description.

Now, some new leaks have given us more details about this mysterious Legend, including the recon character’s abilities, as well as their in-game skins. Here’s everything that’s been revealed about Pariah.

Apex Legends roster

When will Pariah arrive in Apex Legends?

All of this new information came from notable Apex Legends leaker Biast, who correctly predicted the arrival of Fuse to the battle royale. The latest leak let us know more about what to expect from Pariah, and fans were hoping for a release date.

While that wasn’t revealed, some have begun speculating that we may see the new Legend arrive at some point during Season 9. However, that doesn’t seem likely, as Biast believes that we’ll see Valk join the game first.

The order of release between all the leaked content is currently unclear, but the fact that there’s a full kit and skins for Pariah means that we might still see them arrive in Season 10.

Pariah abilities leaked for Apex Legends

Pariah’s kit comes with three distinct abilities. Their passive makes them the first Legend able to see enemy health bars and their tactical consists of a sonar grenade that lets them scout the area for opponents.

Their ultimate ability makes them immune to stunning effects and steam. It sounds similar to Caustic’s gas — dealing damage straight to enemies’ health. You can look at the full leaked kit below:

  • Passive: Aplomb Training: Pariah can see enemy health bars. Pariah is also immune to stunning effects and SDM steam.
  • Tactical: Sonar Grenade: Throw a sonar grenade revealing enemies in its area of effect. Grenade lasts for 15 seconds.
  • Ultimate: Sacrificial Romantic: Pariah activates a SDM device releasing a flurry of steam in all directions but becomes unable to move. Steam causes burn damage directly to health.

Pariah skins in Apex Legends

When Pariah joins Apex Legends, they will have 40 skins different skins to choose from. No textures or in-game footage have been revealed, so we’ll have to wait a while before we get our first look at these.

At the time of writing, four of the Legendary skins have had their names revealed, and they are:

  • Secret Service
  • Lost Archive
  • Phantom Edge
  • Chimera Effect

That covers all we know about this mysterious Legend so far. Hopefully, Respawn Entertainment will provide us with some in-game teasers that reveal Pariah’s appearance soon.

We’ll keep checking for further updates in the meanwhile, and will inform you of anything else that we learn.

Apex Legends Season 9 teaser: Olympus map changes and new Legend

Apex Legends Twitter account teases Olympus map changes and new Legend in a video celebrating 100 million players.

Apex legends season 9 teaser

To celebrate 100 million players on Apex Legends, the developers tweeted out a video showcasing some new content, teasing map changes, and the new Season 9 Legend.

Over on Apex Legends Twitter account, @PlayApex, a video was dropped to celebrate 100 million players on the game.

In the video, streamers and even e-sports commentators for Apex Legends were featured in a collage of videos, celebrating the huge support of the community of the past two years.

The most interesting thing about this video, however, was the teasers that came with it. Popular data miner @Shrugtal was quick to show off the still images of what was teased.

Season 9 Olympus teasers

In the first image, it seems Hammond Labs will be getting a makeover, as the teaser shows off a completely changed location from what is currently in Apex Legends Season 8.

Furthermore, from the fourth image shown by Shrugtal, it seems Olympus will take on a much darker tone than what we are used to, as it looks like it has been set to nighttime.

We then see Mirage Voyage has made its way to Olympus after disappearing from Kings Canyon. The location of where it will be is uncertain and nothing can really be suggested from the small teaser shown in the video.

Apex Legends Season 9 Olympus changes

Legend teaser

Probably the smallest, but the most interesting part about this video is the Legend teaser towards the end. Apex Legends’ new Legend is briefly shown hovering above Mirage but is too far away to make out much detail.

The fact that the Legend is hovering pretty much confirms it will be the Soaring Aviator, Valk, which means Falcon. Valk has been mentioned by data miners in the past and her icon was even shown in the leaked Arena mode teaser not too long ago, which looked like a yellow butterfly.

The fact that Valk’s abilities are associated with hovering and flying pretty much validates that this is Valk, and that she will be coming to Apex Legends in Season 9.

At the end of the video, a date is shown, “4.19.21,” suggesting that this is the date we will see an official reveal trailer for Season 9. Perhaps this means Season 9 will launch May 5th; two days after the end of Season 8.

For more on Apex Legends Season 9 and the new Legend, Valk, keep it locked on Charlie Intel.
