Now that Warzone Pacific Season 3 is here, the chance to earn the KG M40 from the Battle Pass has passed. Don’t worry though, you can still get your hands on the Season 2 Assault Rifle.

Each new Vanguard and Warzone season delivers some new weapons for players to get to grips with. Season 2 added the brand-new KG M40 Assault Rifle, alongside the Whitley LMG, Ice Axe melee weapon, and Armaguerra 43 SMG.

Previously, the KG M40 was unlocked via the Season 2 Battle Pass at Tier 15, but the release of Warzone Season 3 means players will have to earn the weapon another way.

The KG M40 has been described as a “workhorse assault rifle” that’s “naturally steady and accurate,” so we’re detailing how you can unlock it now that the Season 3 Battle Pass has taken over.

How to unlock the KG M40 in Warzone & Vanguard

Warzone and Vanguard’s KG M40 Assault Rifle can be unlocked by earning three double kill medals with an AR in a single match 15 times.

On the surface, this may seem like quite a frustrating challenge, but you can complete it pretty naturally by simply equipping your favorite Assault Rifle and playing Vanguard multiplayer. We recommend a mode like Team Deathmatch or Domination where you can rack up plenty of kills.

The devs described it as a “high-caliber fully automatic weapon that rivals the first three Assault Rifles unlocked in Vanguard.” It has a similar effective range to the NZ-41, but with a faster fire rate and “the second highest damage per shot in its category.” They compared its recoil to the Cooper Carbine, “but with slightly better centering speed.”

The KG M40 never quite became a meta weapon in Vanguard or Warzone, but with a new season, we could see it begin to challenge the most popular Assault Rifles this time around.
