As a bonus customization option for Black Ops Cold War players, Treyarch has added the option to let CoD gamers alter the Hit Marker sound effect, and our guide will show you how to do so.

It’s the little things that can have a huge impact on someone’s enjoyment of a game. Some players have reported that they haven’t been a fan of Black Ops Cold War’s Hit Marker sound, and Treyarch has now included a feature to be able to change this.

Just to speed things up and make the process as easy as possible, we’ve thrown together a quick guide to let you have a more recognizable sound trigger when you pummel the enemy.

Where is the Classic Hit Marker sound effect in Cold War Season 3?

In the same way that we want punchy guns that feel great as they’re being fired, the satisfying sound bite of bullets connecting with an opponent can be just as important. It’s all well and good landing shots with a Streetsweeper or LC10, but not if it offers you unrewarding feedback.

Treyarch has understood this notion, which is why we now have the new option to switch the game sound settings accordingly.

The description reads, “Choose between the classic and default sound effect that plays when hitting a target successfully.”

Here’s how to change the Hit Marker sound effect in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War:

  1. Boot up Black Ops Cold War
  2. Go to ‘Settings’
  3. Toggle across to the ‘Audio’ tab
  4. Scroll down until you get to ‘Select Hit Markers Sound Effect’
  5. Flick the option to ‘Classic’
  6. Jump out of the settings and into a game
  7. Enjoy some familiarity with your Hit Marker sound effect!

It’s not the kind of addition that will drastically improve your in-game performance or anything like that, but it’s a nuance that will be appreciated by many members of the Call of Duty community.
