How to unlock the Machete in Black Ops Cold War Season 2
Black Ops Cold War Season 2 has introduced a new melee weapon for players to wield, and here’s how you can get your hands on the Machete.
With the launch of Black Ops Cold War Season 2, three new weapons were added to the game. The Fara 83 Assault Rifle, the LC10 Submachine Gun, and the Machete are all available in-game now, but to you’ll need to complete some tasks if you fancy using them.
The Machete is described in-game as being “manufactured from a durable steel blade, tempered to maximum toughness to resist chipping and breaking. Popular in many tropical countries as both a weapon and agricultural tool,” and is sure to slice through any enemies unfortunate enough to get too close to you.
Once unlocked, this powerful and brutal killing tool does not disappoint, slashing each enemy in your way with ease.
How to Unlock the Machete
In order to unlock this melee weapon, you need to earn a Back Stabber medal in 15 different matches. You’ll want to equip the knife as your secondary weapon on a loadout, then get to finding unaware enemies.
Unfortunately, finishing moves do not count towards this challenge. You will instead need to tap your action button behind an enemy to ensure you do not execute a finishing move, instead simply slicing at a player, killing them. When this is done, you’ll be down one medal, but you’ll have to wait until the end of the match to get your progress.
Due to the tedious nature of this challenge, we’ll be recommending you start each game off attempting to get a Back Stabber medal, then switching to your regular loadout to make things simple.
To assist you in your challenge, be sure to bring a smoke grenade and the Ninja perk with you to stay silent and out of sight from enemies. If you’re having issues catching enemies off guard, try playing the Combined Arms game mode and sitting near the enemy spawn.
Hopefully, this helps you on your journey to unlock the Machete Melee weapon in Black Ops Cold War. Be sure to also check out the Zombies Outbreak event while its active as well in order to get some limited-time rewards.
