In a surprise update on April 15, the highly-anticipated Sykov full-auto Pistol was added to Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare, so here’s how to unlock this powerful new sidearm.
After players found the Sykov Pistol in Plunder, they were desperate to get their hands on this new Modern Warfare weapon. In an update on April 15, the Sykov Pistol was finally added to the game.
It’s described in-game as a “double-action/single-action sidearm” that “comes with a few custom gunsmith mods that make it an outstanding addition to any arsenal.” From gameplay, we know that these powerful modifications are the full-auto feature and the 80 Round Mags.
With the right attachments, the Sykov pistol is unstoppable at close-range. Here’s everything you need to do to unlock it.
How to unlock the Sykov in Warzone and Modern Warfare
The Sykov Pistol is easy to unlock in Modern Warfare and Warzone, you simply need to get 4 kills while using pistols in 5 different matches.
If you own Modern Warfare, this is the place to do it. Jump into small maps such as Shipment or Shoot House in Hardcore mode, use any pistol, and you’ll be able to one-tap other players with ease.
If you only own Warzone, the challenge will be more difficult but is still very manageable. We recommend jumping into Plunder with some of Warzone’s best pistols. The akimbo Diamattis are still powerhouses, and dual Renettis will also offer similar results.
Also, we recommend you finish the match for progress to count. Leaving the match early can cause issues with the progress not counting, so you can simply get your pistol kills then play on as normal until the match ends.
How to unlock Akimbo for the Sykov pistol
What makes the Sykov so powerful is its Akimbo perk. This isn’t unlocked as a regular challenge, you’ll need to get 3 kills in 5 different matches using the Mo’Money perk with the Sykov.
The challenge description is reportedly bugged and will tell you to use the Renetti, but you need to use the Mo’Money perk with the Sykov.
Again, this challenge is easy in Modern Warfare’s multiplayer. We recommend playing Hardcore Shipment and Shoothouse as you’ll get the kills in no time.
For Warzone, we recommend hopping into Plunder. Equip Mo’Money to your Sykov and take close-range fights and you should be able to get at least three kills.
The Sykov’s arrival follows three new maps being added to Modern Warfare – Killhouse, Al-Raab Airbase, and Drainage. The latter two have been removed but will be returning soon as they still needed more “love.”

The Sykov is also the first of the unreleased Modern Warfare weapons to have arrived in the game, with the CX-9 SMG and Raal LMG still scheduled to arrive.
Ranked up, the Sykov pistol is likely to be a dominant weapon close-range in Warzone, so if the issues with unlocking it are addressed, it’s worth utilizing the upcoming Double XP event to quickly unlock all of the attachments.

Best Modern Warfare MP5 loadout for CoD: Warzone Season 3
Modern Warfare’s MP5 has made a strong comeback in Warzone Season 3, so here are the best attachments and perks to make it godly.
Modern Warfare’s MP5 SMG has long been a popular choice in Call of Duty: Warzone, so here are the best attachments and perks to maximize its slaying potential in Season 3.
Before Warzone integrated with Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare’s MP5 was top of the pack, being the most used weapon for a considerable amount of time. The meta has changed significantly since then with multiple top dogs now running wild: the Krig, AMAX, LC10, Streetsweeper, and more.
If you’re looking for a well-balanced and reliable SMG, the Modern Warfare MP5 is your best companion for the task.
Here are the best attachments and perks to run with it in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3.
Best Modern Warfare MP5 loadout for CoD: Warzone
- Barrel: Monolithic Integral Suppressor
- Laser: 5mW Laser
- Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
- Ammunition: 45 Round Mags
- Stock: FTAC Collapsible
Our build has an emphasis on speed and utility. You’ll be able to take down enemies at medium range and close in the gaps quickly with great mobility and accuracy.

The Monolithic Integral Suppressor is the best choice for Modern Warfare’s MP5 as it has all the traits of the standard Monolithic Suppressor, but uses both the muzzle and barrel slots. You’ll stay off the radar while firing, and also receive additional bullet velocity.
As the MP5 is a ‘pocket’ weapon, you want it to be as mobile as possible. To increase its speed, you should add the 5mW Laser and FTAC Collapsible stock. The laser will give you a sprint-to-fire speed boost, and vastly improve your hip-fire accuracy and the stock will allow you to aim down sights quicker and move faster. With these attachments combined, you can be quick and unpredictable in close-range fights.
For extra recoil control and even more hip-fire accuracy, the Merc Foregrip is an excellent choice. You’ll not only be able to hit more accurate shots on enemies at medium distance, but you’ll be able to land much more hip-fire shots at point-blank.
And finally, to make sure you can down and finish several targets in one fight, the 45 Round Mags will be a necessary addition.
Best perks for Modern Warfare MP5 in Warzone
- Perk 1: E.O.D
- Perk 2: Overkill then Ghost
- Perk 3: Amped
When choosing which perks to run with the MP5 in Warzone, you want those which will benefit you in close-range engagements. When fighting up close, enemies will often chuck a bombardment of explosives your way to get the upper hand. With E.O.D equipped, you’ll be able to tank a plethora of grenades and Semtex, allowing you to stay in the fight.
As the MP5 is most effective as a secondary, you’ll want to take Overkill from your first Loadout Drop. This will allow you to take two primary weapons such as a HDR, then you can get Ghost from your next Loadout to be concealed from UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors.
To be able to quickly change guns mid-fight, Amped will almost eliminate this weapon swap delay. Whether your primary weapon is out of ammo or you get ambushed at close-range, Amped will be vital to your survival.

Activision cuts ties with voice actor of Ghost, Jeff Leach, after sexist comments resurface
Activision ends relations with the re-casted voice actor behind Ghost.
Activision has cut all ties with Jeff Leach, the voice actor behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Ghost Operator, after sexist comments made by Leach resurfaced on social media.
Jeff Leach was the voice actor behind the Ghost character in Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone. The entire original Modern Warfare cast was re-casted for the 2019 reboot, and Leach voiced Ghost when the character was added as an operator in Season 2 in February 2020.
The news of Activision ending their working relationship with Leach comes as sexist comments made by Jeff Leach have resurfaced online after streamers and community members were questioning why Leach still had partners within the industry.
A Twitter thread posted shows sexist comments Leach made about streamer ZombiUnicorn in 2017, as well as other more recent comments during a stream on Facebook Gaming, and asked why he still has partnerships with Facebook Gaming and Activision.
Leach has been streaming on Facebook Gaming as an official partner in 2020 and has been frequently streaming Warzone.
One of the clips shows Leach, while playing Call of Duty: Warzone, saying, “I love how it’s always like some dirty, dirty, gross f**king looking emo b**ch who looks like she f**king has no chance of getting a bit of d**k in her.”
These clips are believed to be from a live stream that occurred in December 2020.
ZombiUnicorn since replied in their own video response on Twitter, asking why Facebook and Activision still have partnerships with Leach.
In a new statement sent to CharlieIntel on May 8th, Activision says they have ended all working relationships with Jeff Leach and “condemn” all of his remarks.
“Sexism has no place in our industry, our games or in society,” Activision says in a new statement. “Activision is no longer working with Jeff Leach. We strongly condemn these remarks. We are committed to delivering a fun and safe experience for all players.”
Facebook Gaming has not commented on Jeff Leach’s comments at this time.
What this means for the future of Ghost Operator in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone remains to be seen and was not addressed in this statement.

Warzone devs tease “immensely popular” Modern Warfare attachment coming to Cold War snipers
The Warzone developers have teased that a Black Ops Cold War version of a popular Modern Warfare sniper attachment could be arriving in the future.
Raven Software teased in the latest set of patch notes for Warzone that an equivalent to a popular Modern Warfare sniper attachment could be coming to Black Ops Cold War snipers in the Call of Duty battle royale.
May 7, 2021, was an exciting day for Warzone, as Raven Software applied the latest update to the game that made a significant amount of changes.
The Warzone developers also took the time to tease some upcoming changes to Modern Warfare weapons and the mysterious arrival of a Black Ops Cold War version of a fan-favorite Modern Warfare sniper attachment.
This tease of a Black Ops Cold War version of an “immensely popular” Modern Warfare sniper attachment came under the changes for Combat Recon barrels for Black Ops Cold War snipers in the May 7, 2021, Warzone patch notes.
“As we continue assess the place of Cold War snipers within Warzone, we realize there is much work to be done. In addition to improving the overall efficacy of these weapons and attachments, we will also be taking a close look at their optics,” said Raven Software.
“This includes addressing attachment pros where there are few, if any, use cases,” Raven Software continued. “In specific… we may see a Cold War equivalent to an immensely popular Modern Warfare sniper attachment very soon.”
It remains to be seen what Modern Warfare sniper attachment Raven Software is teasing could potentially come to Black Ops Cold War snipers.
The developer made a specific reference to the optics of the Cold War snipers, so perhaps an equivalent of a Modern Warfare optic for the long-range weapons could be coming to the Black Ops ones.
Still, there is also a possibility that it could be a Cold War version of the popular Modern Warfare tac laser attachment.
We will update this article with any new information regarding what this possible mysterious Cold War version of a popular Modern Warfare sniper attachment could when new information is made available.
