After asking for it since launch, Vanguard players finally received the Trophy System Field Upgrade in Season 3, and here’s how you’ll be able to get your hands on it.

The Godzilla vs Kong event equipped with Vanguard Operator bundles may be garnering a ton of attention ahead of Season 3, but it’s the arrival of a Trophy System that will have fans jumping for joy.

Vanguard players have long been displeased with the lack of the Field Upgrade but Season 3 is set to change that as the April 26 update brought the Trophy System to the game. While you won’t be able to access it until Season 3 begins on April 27, here’s how to unlock the Trophy System in Vanguard.

How to unlock the Trophy System in Vanguard

Vanguard players don’t have to do anything to unlock the new Field Upgrade, as all players will be granted the Trophy System after logging in to Season 3 — “no challenge completion required!”

Vanguard’s pre-Season 3 update brought the Trophy System, but it was locked behind a challenge where players needed to “survive 15 different matches without being killed by a grenade.” This would be a time-consuming and luck-based task, and players weren’t happy.

Luckily, Sledgehammer Games announced that there won’t be a challenge after all, and players will have immediate access to the Trophy System when the Season 3 update goes live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST.

The Trophy System Field Upgrade “destroys up to three nearby pieces of equipment and projectiles, and it’s got a fast recharge to boot.” If you’ve played Vanguard, you may have noticed how common grenade spam is.

Vanguard’s lethal and tactical grenades are incredibly powerful, which makes the Trophy System a valuable addition. You’ll also be able to use the Trophy System in Ranked Play, which will make defending Hardpoint hills much easier.
