Insane Vanguard glitch makes High Alert even stronger despite nerf

Vanguard players believe a bug is making High Alert the most broken Perk in the game despite receiving a significant nerf.

Vanguard’s mid-Season 1 update introduced a number of Perk balancing adjustments including a nerf to High Alert but players were quick to notice that it works better than ever.

Sledgehammer Games took the opportunity to address the numerous complaints concerning fire ruining the Multiplayer experience by issuing a Dauntless and Fortified Perk buff. High Alert was also fine-tuned receiving a nerf that was meant to delay the Perk’s activation.

Although an abundance of fire no longer seems to be an issue, one player has proved that the nerf to High Alert may have had the opposite effect on the popular Perk.

High Alert is an extremely popular perk that Vanguard players love to equip in the Perk 2 slot. There are a ton of great options in the Perk 2 slot, including Forward Intel and Piercing Vision, but High Alert is often found on the best Vanguard loadouts.

The Perk emits a vision pulse when enemies outside your view see you. Evidently, this is a great choice for multiplayer as it covers your blind spots perfectly. Sledgehammer aimed to nerf High Alert by adding a slight delay to activation after an enemy looks your way.

It turns out, the update may have turned the Perk into the most overpowered option in the game as the video below showcases High Alert activating through a large rock.

You can clearly see in the killcam posted by MrClawzz that the enemy received a pulse through the boulder. The Perk is only supposed to activate when a player has their sights set on you.

The added information that this stronger than ever High Alert provides can result in easy kills as seen in the clip above. This is likely the result of a bug causing High Alert to activate through walls that arrived via the January 11 Vanguard update.

Some Vanguard players in the comments were quick to point out that this could be the work of Intuition, “I’m thinking it may have been the intuition perk. It alerts when enemies are behind walls and near you. As your turned the corner of the rocks it set the perk off for him. Edit: kill cam says high alert….may be a glitch in the killcam feed?? Idk?”

Although, MrClawzz’s killcam confirms that the enemy player was using High Alert.

If it really is a bug, there’s no doubt that Sledgehammer will act quickly to fix it given how game-breaking of a mechanic it is.

DEADROP dev responds as fans accuse CoD of stealing skin from Dr Disrespect game

Dr Disrespect fans are convinced Activision copied a Variant his game for their latest Warzone skin, and a DEADROP dev has responded.

Activision dropped Warzone and Vanguard’s Tracer Pack Malware Ultra Skin but players immediately noticed a striking similarity with Dr Disrespect’s DEADROP, and it looks like it’s even prompted a response from a Midnight Society developer.

Not long after Activision had to apologize for copying artwork from an independent artist, plagiarism accusations are flying once again. This time concerning Vanguard and Warzone’s new Doomslayer skin which Dr Disrespect fans immediately recognized.

Dr Disrespect’s ‘vertical extraction shooter’ DEADROP is currently in development, and there have already been plenty of comparisons with Call of Duty — mostly from Doc himself. He’s previously said that Modern Warfare 2 can’t “match” DEADROP.

Those who have bought a DEADROP Founders Pass have received one of 10,000 “Variants,” which are unique in-game characters. Senior developers have shown off their Variants, and many think they are the inspiration for Call of Duty’s latest bundle.

The Tracer Pack Malware Ultra skin dropped in Warzone and Vanguard on August 15, featuring a hooded sci-fi character with a skull-faced digital visor. Those words could also be used to describe DEADROP founder Robert Bowling’s Variant, and players were quick to make the comparison.

“Damn, they had to scrap the Dog they ripped off then went straight for a DEADROP variant,” replied one Twitter user. “Looks like whoever created this skin TRIED to copy the Variant of one of the leaders of [Midnight Society],” commented another.

While not a direct response, Bowling, who’s an ex-Infinity Ward dev, tweeted: “At least name it after me.”

Not everyone was convinced that the skin was a straight copy though, as some said that it’s a classic sci-fi design that’s been around longer than DEADROP.

We’ll need to wait and see whether Activision respond to the accusations, but Doc fans are convinced. In the meantime, check out how NICKMERCS will be “brutally honest” if he thinks DEADROP is trash.

Vanguard devs confirm new round-based Zombies map for Season 5

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s devs brought the classic Shi No Numa with Season 4, and another round-based Zombies map will arrive with the Season 5 update.

Although being a continuation of the Dark Aether storyline from Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty players were less-than-impressed with Vanguard’s Zombies offering. The mode was slammed for dropping the round-based format and removing classic features, and even though Season 2’s Terra Maledicta brought the Ray Gun and Decimator Shield, the non-round-based map was labeled “boring.”

Fortunately, a round-based recreation of World at War’s Shi No Numa dropped in the Season 4 update, and now the devs will bring “The Archon” in Season 5.

Both Warzone and Vanguard Season 5 are set to arrive on Wednesday, August 24, bringing “The Archon” as a new Zombies round-based experience.

What this new map will look like is anyone’s guess, but the devs teased back in June that more round-based maps are coming to Vanguard and confirmed that “yes, it’s round-based.”

The Archon is the final map for Vanguard, as Treyarch confirmed that “Vanguard Zombies concludes in Season Five.”

We would expect this map to come with all of the features you’d expect in a Call of Duty Zombies map, such as a Main Quest Easter Egg and Wonder Weapon to build. It appears Kortifex, the main antagonist of Vanguard Zombies, will be the final boss as Treyarch tweeted that “Kortifex must die.”

Hopefully, this new Zombies map will please long-time Zombies players ahead of Modern Warfare 2’s beta and October 28 launch. But, Modern Warfare won’t have its own Zombies mode.

Warzone’s frustrating demon gun glitch is back in Vanguard

The demon gun glitch is one the most infamous bugs in Warzone and now reports are coming in of it ruining the textures of weapon camos in Call of Duty Vanguard again.

Warzone Pacific players have had to repeatedly deal with the frustrating demon gun glitch that blocks their screens with distorted textures, making it impossible for them to accurately aim their weapons.

This glitch has popped up at complete random numerous times and is now causing problems in CoD Vanguard again, as players are reporting the textures on their weapon camos being reduced to polygons.

Reddit user ‘EPURON’ encountered this glitch when using a weapon camo that was part of the Godzilla vs King Kong event. They then shared a clip showcasing this in the Vanguard subreddit.

Throughout the clip, the textures on the weapon camo were glitching, and the Redditor was unable to see anything through the optic when aiming down sights. They described the glitch as “polygon madness.”

While the textures looked bad when aiming down sights, they looked even worse in the killcam that played after the player was taken out. At that point, the entire screen was blocked by the glitch.

EPURON explained in the comments that this is their first time encountering the Demon Gun Glitch, and others brought up the times they had to deal with it back when Vanguard first launched.

This glitch has become infamous among Warzone Pacific and Vanguard players since it pops up repeatedly to cause mayhem on their screens and still hasn’t been removed for good after multiple update patches.
