Is NICKMERCS quitting Warzone battle royale for good?
Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff is one of Warzone’s most popular streamers and YouTube content creators, but he’s unhappy with the game’s constant hacking and stream sniping and may quit the main BR mode for good.
Call of Duty: Warzone benefits from being one of the best battle royale experiences and the countless world-class players and streamers that represent the brand. Stars like Aydan are breaking world records, and Dr Disrespect and ZLaner are bringing kills and entertainment.
NICKMERCS is another hugely popular Warzone player who transitioned from Fortnite to CoD and established himself as a key member of FaZe Clan. He’s been a regular player of the 150-player battle royale Verdansk experience, but several issues are causing him ill-feeling towards the game.
In a shocking video entitled, “Quitting Battle Royale..,” Nick explained some of his honest thoughts regarding his time with Warzone as of late.
“We’re going to be talking about battle royale modes in Warzone, and why, to be honest, I think I’m kind of floating away from them.
“For full transparency, the hacking, the stream sniping, those are the two biggest motivators that have literally been driving me away from battle royale modes in Warzone.”
Nick has posted videos in the post showing himself and teammates spectating hackers that have killed them live on stream, even getting them banned. As for stream sniping, this is an unavoidable issue for people streaming live as the video feed gives players worldwide real-time information on the whereabouts of a streamer.
Instead of playing battle royale, Nick has been experimenting with other Warzone modes: “Lately, I’ve been playing a lot of Rebirth, and on top of that, they added Buy Back Quads, and I’ve been playing a lot of the Respawn modes as well.
“The only way I’ve been having some real fun playing Warzone lately is playing Rebirth or playing Buy Back. The normal battle royale mode has just not been as fun for me.”
It was well-documented that Nick quit competitive Warzone months ago, citing cheating pros and hacking as major turn-offs. Now, the streamer may face a self-imposed exile from Warzone’s main battle royale mode if these issues reoccur.
