Call of Duty expert JGOD claims that the Modern Warfare 2 developers may have hidden some features in the campaign that will also return in the Tarkov-inspired DMZ mode.

Modern Warfare 2 players that digitally pre-ordered the game can use early access to jump into the campaign ahead of the full release on October 26 and check out the new content in the game.

One of the most highly anticipated aspects of this game is the Escape from Tarkov-inspired extraction game mode called DMZ, and it seems that the developers may have given players a taste of it in the campaign.

Call of Duty expert and content creator JGOD shared a clip of his Modern Warfare 2 campaign gameplay and it showed him coming across a box that he couldn’t unlock without opening the crafting menu and making a Pry Tool.

As he went towards the box, JGOD told Modern Warfare 2 players to keep an eye out for “DMZ-type stuff.” The game mode is expected to involve players extracting loot from around the map.

As soon as he found out that crafting a tool to open the box allowed him to access useful loot, he concluded that the devs may have hidden a DMZ feature in the campaign. He excitedly stated: “Oh wow. Yeah, this is all DMZ!”

At the time of writing, this feature seems exclusive to just one Modern Warfare 2 mission, and that has led to much discussion about whether or not Infinity Ward have more plans for it.

Of course, this is all purely speculation at this point, and we won’t know for sure if the developers left this feature in as a DMZ tease until the mode officially arrives on November 16 along with Warzone 2.0.
