JGOD discovers Warzone’s Bren received “meta-breaking” secret buff

The Bren has been dominating Caldera since its arrival, and it was nerfed once again in Warzone’s Season 2 update. However, YouTuber JGOD has discovered that it actually received a secret buff.

Warzone’s Bren LMG has consistently been one of the most popular guns since Vanguard’s weapons moved over. With great range and extremely low recoil, it became the go-to for many – even after Raven Software nerfed it.

Back when Warzone Pacific was first released, some of Vanguard’s barrels had an overpowered ability to give LMGs unlimited range. After the Bren took over the meta, Raven Software removed that ability from the barrel. However, JGOD believes this nerf was secretly reverted.

JGOD broke down the damage values for the Bren, revealing that its damage has been buffed and the damage drop-off has been removed. It will now deal the same damage no matter the range, meaning it now takes one less shot to kill an enemy in certain situations, and its time to kill (TTK) has been lowered to below 700.

He explained that most of the meta weapons such as Cold War’s XM4 and AK-47 have TTKs in the 700-800 range, so the Bren dropping below that is “meta-breaking.”

What JGOD believes happened here is that they reverted the nerf to the Queen’s 705mm Royal barrel, removing the damage drop-offs that were added. He explained that it “no longer has a damage drop-off the way it did when it was first added and completely broken.”

This buff means you can opt for some different attachments, as you no longer need to worry about the damage range stat because its damage range is infinite no matter what.

Similar to how the PPSH-41 was confirmed to be accidentally buffed, it’s likely that the same happened to the Bren. JGOD just hopes that these were the only two weapons that received a stealth change in Season 2.
