JGOD reveals if Warzone’s new RAAL MG is a Season 5 meta weapon
The final Modern Warfare weapon to arrive, the RAAL MG, has made its way into Warzone. YouTuber JGOD has explored every aspect of the new LMG, giving the best possible loadout and revealing whether it could become the Season 5 meta.
After the RAAL MG could be found in Warzone Season 2 ground loot, players have been desperate to see it arrive in-game. In a surprise drop following the 1.41 update, the RAAL finally arrived.
As he does with every weapon in the game, Warzone YouTuber JGOD has got down to the nitty-gritty with the brand-new RAAL MG. Through this testing, he can already reveal whether the RAAL will make its way into Warzone’s meta.
Is the RAAL MG a meta weapon in Warzone?
According to JGOD’s testing, the RAAL has a very respectable TTK, coming in slightly faster than the C58 Assault Rifle. This is in large part due to the high bullet velocity of 1,233, which is considerably faster than some of the other popular weapons such as the FARA 83 and Krig 6.
It also has an almost vertical recoil pattern, which makes it very easy to control and stay on target at longer ranges. However, JGOD believes that its mobility seriously holds it back.
His testing revealed that it has a reload speed of over seven seconds, which “isn’t quite as slow as some of the other LMGs, but it does take quite a while.” Also, as it’s a Modern Warfare LMG, decking it out with attachments will make your movement speed significantly slower.
“Unfortunately, I think it’s just a good LMG,” concluded JGOD. “Very good in line with the other LMGs but the drawback is the reload, the movement – which is the same for a lot of LMGs. So, can you use it, can it be viable? Yes. Will it be meta? No.”
JGOD’s RAAL MG Warzone loadout
- Muzzle: RAAL Monocore
- Barrel: 32.0″ RAAL Line Breaker
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Underbarrel: FFS Oblique
- Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
This is the standard build for most of Modern Warfare’s LMGs, with the build most closely resembling the PKM.
JGOD revealed that the RAAL Monocore muzzle acts the same as the popular Monolithic Suppressor, which increases the weapon’s damage range. Then the 32.0″ RAAL Line Breaker barrel helps with range, bullet velocity, and also recoil control.
As the weapon is slow, JGOD explained that “you need a little bit faster aim down sight,” so the TAC Laser is necessary. And the FFS Oblique is “a little bit like the Snatch Grip on the PKM,” as it helps with both recoil control and ADS speed.
Finally, JGOD said that the “Iron Sights are pretty good but you won’t be able to challenge anyone at 200 meters, practically, in a normal game.” So, he recommends the classic VLK 3.0x Optic.
