JGOD reveals the best Cold War AK-47 builds for every Warzone playstyle
Black Ops Cold War’s AK-47 is arguably one of the most versatile weapons in Warzone, so YouTuber and battle royale scholar, JGOD, has revealed the best AK-47 loadouts, no matter your playstyle.
Although some weapons such as the FARA 83 and XM4 are dominating Warzone Season 4, there are still plenty of viable options. The AK-47 can be built to suit any playstyle, so Warzone statistician JGOD has broken down the best AK build no matter the situation.
Here are the three best AK-47 loadouts for Season 4, as recommended by Warzone expert JGOD.
JGOD’s close-range AK-47 Warzone loadout
JGOD explained how the AK-47 can be an effective close-range weapon. Its fast TTK and decent handling make it powerful, but he doesn’t believe it’s the best choice for an SMG replacement. JGOD explained how its aim down sight speed can’t compete with some of the faster SMGs and its slow fire rate makes it unforgiving at close range.

If you’re looking to use the AK-47 as an SMG, there are a few builds you can run. For an extremely solid build, here’s what JGOD calls the “main go-to”:
- Barrel: 20″ Spetsnaz RPK Barrel
- Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
- Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
- Ammunition: 45 Rnd
- Rear Grip: GRU Elastic Wrap
If you want your AK to be suppressed, JGOD said you could remove the barrel attachment and add the GRU Suppressor. However, this will make the weapon more difficult to control.
JGOD’s ‘Sniper Support’ AK-47 Warzone loadout
When running a long-range weapon such as the Swiss K31, Kar98k, or SPR, you also want something to deal with enemies at close and medium range.JGOD explained how Cold War’s AK-47 is the “number one Sniper Support option,” because of its great TTK at any range.

Here’s JGOD’s best Sniper Support AK-47 Cold War loadout:
- Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
- Optic: Microflex LED
- Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
- Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
- Ammunition: 45 Rnd
If you want to get a faster ADS speed from your AK-47, you can swap out the Stock for a GRU Elastic Wrap or Serpent Grip.
JGOD’s long-range AK-47 Warzone loadout
The FARA 83 is arguably the best long-range Assault Rifle in Warzone Season 4, but the AK-47 can give it a run for its money if built right. Although the AK is less accurate than the FARA, it hits harder, so could be considered more forgiving.
Here’s JGOD’s recommended long-range AK-47 loadout:
- Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Barrel: 20″ Spetsnaz RPK Barrel
- Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
- Ammunition: Bakelite 60 Rnd
Depending on whether you prioritize ADS speed or recoil control, you can change the barrel attachment. The RPK Barrel will heavily reduce your recoil, but you can opt for the 20″ Liberator barrel if you prefer a faster ADS time.
