A Warzone and NFL crossover occurred recently after JuJu Smith-Schuster, a Wide Receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, claimed that the BR shooter was a key factor in his team’s recent win.

In post-match NFL press conferences, you find that players and coaches generally talk about the incidents that took place during a game, and the team’s performance, amongst other factors. But what you don’t usually expect to hear is talk about Call of Duty: Warzone, but that’s exactly what happened recently.

Following the Kansas City Chiefs 44-23 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in a recent NFL game, Chiefs Wide Receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was interviewed about the game.

Instead of the usual spiel about hard work and playing well, Smith-Schuster actually cited Activision’s Warzone as playing a huge part in the team’s win.

“But I’m a tell you what got us the chemistry where we need it for this game was, it was me, Pat [Patrick Mahomes], Travis [Travis Kelce], and MVS [Marquez Valdes-Scantling],” Smith-Schuster explained.

He said: “We were playing Call of Duty together. We’re all on the same team, right? There’s four of us, there’s 64 people on this map, it’s called Rebirth Island, we all land in. You could just tell the communication between all of us and the chemistry was just like we were in the game.”

The NFL star went on to say that his team “won three games back-to-back” and believes it “showed on the field.”

It’s not the first time that the world of the NFL and CoD have come together as NFL players were invited to an exclusive Call of Duty playtest event not too long ago.

During it, images were accidentally released confirming the upcoming DMZ mode, and it just showed that elite-level players need ways to cool off.

The team will surely be hoping to replicate their off-field abilities and success when Warzone 2 launches in November, shortly after Modern Warfare 2.
