Leak reveals Alcatraz to return as ‘Rebirth Island’ in Warzone

A social media leak has revealed that Alcatraz is all-set to return as Rebirth Island in Call of Duty Warzone for more Battle Royale action.

Originally making waves in Black Ops 4’s Blackout as a Battle Royale map, Alcatraz appears to be making its return and is set to invade the Warzone as ‘Rebirth Island.

When the Season One roadmap was wheeled out originally, eagle-eyed users spotted some text that translated into Rebirth Island. Despite being a place you visit in Black Ops, Rebirth Island in this context is loosely based on the world-famous prison – Alcatraz – and is expanded to be a hotbed for battle royale activity.

We now have some potential confirmation of the incoming changes thanks to a leak that has made the rounds on Twitter.

Rebirth Island leaked

We’re still a few days away from the launch of Season One of Black Ops Cold War on December 10. But Adi Source on Twitter has been able to uncover information regarding the new season’s content.

The image, from data miners, shows the logo and feature image for Warzone’s new map. (Image will probably be taken down by DMCA soon).

Reusing old content is certainly not an unfamiliar concept to Call of Duty fans as the series has constantly revitalized many of its previous maps and placed them in newer games e.g Nuketown.

Warzone will not be getting a seventh season and will instead continue its legacy with the forthcoming launch of its service alongside Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The rest of the content remains to be seen, but we’ll update you when we find out more.

Season One is set to begin on December 10, and information on what to expect will surely be released soon. Stay tuned.

Black Ops Cold War players want to see an Olympics-inspired weapon

Black Ops Cold War players have suggested Treyarch add a brand-new Olympics-themed weapon to celebrate the worldwide competition.

With the Olympics in full swing, Black Ops Cold War players have suggested Treyarch add some in-game items to celebrate the competition, namely a brand-new weapon.

After being postponed, Tokyo’s 2020 Olympics has finally begun. Call of Duty often releases items and hosts events to tie in with worldwide competitions and celebrations, such as 2020’s Games of Summer event and the soccer skins for the Euros.

A Black Ops Cold War fan has suggested that a new Olympics-inspired weapon would be the perfect fit for Call of Duty, and players are loving the idea.

Nail Gun in Black Ops Cold War Season 4

Alongside the realistic firearms that make up Call of Duty’s arsenal, there are also some weird and wacky additions. For example, Cold War and Warzone Season 4 added a Nail Gun to take down your opponents with.

Reddit user bobbobaran suggested that the Biathlon Rifle should be added to the game to celebrate the Olympics. Although not the military-grade tool that CoD fans are used to, it’s no stranger than a Nail Gun.

The Biathlon Rifle is an ultra-lightweight bolt action rifle that’s used for target shooting in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. It fires .22LR rounds which are extremely common and used in a wide variety of weapons. While not as powerful as the ZRG 20mm, for example, Treyarch can adjust the stats to make it competitive.

Players were unsure what category this Olympics weapon could fall into – Special Weapon, Tactical Rifle, or Sniper Rifle? This would all depend on how it would be balanced. It could work as both a fast-firing quickscoping machine or a highly accurate long-range sniper.

Will we ever see the Biathlon Rifle in Call of Duty? It’s impossible to say. But at the very least, it could become a Blueprint for one of the existing Sniper Rifles.

Best QBZ-83 loadout for Black Ops Cold War Season 4

Lightweight and compact, the QBZ 83 is one of Cold War Season 4’s most understated weapons with the right loadout & attachments.

Player using the QBZ 83 in Cold War

Season 4 of Black Ops Cold War has seen a number of weapons come to the forefront, and with the right attachments and perks, the QBZ-83 Assault Rifle can potentially hold its own.

Throughout the lifespan of Cold War, incredible weapons like the XM4, MP5, and AK-74u have dominated the meta, with many opting to use them over any other gun in the game.

Other guns have come into the fold to further broaden horizons with the outrageously powerful LC10 making a strong case for being the meta gun. With the right loadout and class setup, the QBZ can be the perfect gun for players looking to take on enemies at range, without sacrificing the ability to move around the map at speed.

Here’s everything you need to turn the QBZ-83 into a devasting weapon in your arsenal.

Best Cold War Season 4 QBZ-83 attachments

  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake 5.56
  • Barrel: 13.7″ Cavalry Lancer
  • Underbarrel: Foregrip
  • Handle: Quickdraw Handle
  • Stock: Tactical Stock

Pairing the Muzzle Brake 5.56 with the Foregrip is important for control, as this will reduce both the horizontal and vertical recoil and make it much easier to hit your shots.

With the QBZ-83 acting as a mobile AR, the Quickdraw Handle will be the perfect accessory to help you aim down sights quickly while you’re rotating around the map.

Finally, once you’ve found your target and started to fire, you’ll want to be able to keep your crosshairs on your enemy while you shoot. This is where the Tactical Stock comes in, as it improves the stability of the weapon.

Best perks to use with Cold War Season 4’s QBZ-83

Tactical Mask perk
  • Perk 1: Tactical Mask
  • Perk 2: Scavenger
  • Perk 3: Ghost

Tactical Mask is a must in Black Ops Cold War, and with the QBZ-83 allowing you to move around the map faster than other Assault Rifle players, you’ll likely find yourself in the middle of stuns and flashes fairly regularly.

Scavenger is useful to keep your ammo replenished as the QBZ-83 has one of the faster rates of fire in its class, while Ghost will keep you hidden from enemies’ pesky UAVs.

How to unlock the QBZ-83 in Cold War Season 4

If you want to have a go with the QBZ-83, then you’ll simply need to reach Level 31, and it will become yours to equip.

Once you’ve done that, then you can go about unlocking every single attachment for it to equip the right ones for the job.

Best alternatives to Cold War’s QBZ-83 SMG

If you’ve experimented and feel like the QBZ-83 isn’t for you after all, then there are perfectly acceptable replacements should you need them.

The Swiss K31 is fun for quickscoping, the KSP 45 is a weapon reborn in Cold War, and the Krig 6 remains a veritable destroyer of CoD lobbies.

That’s the QBZ-83 sorted for you in Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer. Also, see our tier list of every weapon in Black Ops Cold War to see where we rank them all, and if you enjoy battle royale, then check out our ranking of every Warzone weapon.

JGOD explains which Warzone barrels you should be using for Cold War Assault Rifles

Call of Duty YouTuber JGOD has delved into the different Warzone barrel options for Cold War ARs and explains which ones you should be using.

Each weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone has many different barrels to apply, and CoD guru JGOD has specifically targeted the Cold War Assault Rifles and explained which barrels are better suited.

Creating a loadout and picking the right attachments for your weapon can sometimes be an arduous chore. You immediately doubt your selections, second-guess the choices you’ve made, and it creates a negative bubble for each match of Warzone you use it and don’t win your 1v1s.

Barrels are probably the most selected attachment for every weapon as their effects are significant. Cold War‘s Assault Rifles have had a big bearing on the way Warzone plays and its meta, and JGOD has picked the best barrels and explained which ones work best.

Going through the different barrels, JGOD believes that two barrels are head and shoulders above the rest – the 18.7″ Ranger and the 18.5″ Task Force.

He refers to the Ranger as “barrel 4” and the Task Force as “barrel 6.” He says: “Essentially, the choice, almost always, for weapons that are long-range comes down to whether or not you want to use the fourth barrel or the sixth barrel.”

To fully demonstrate the different effects of each, JGOD set foot into Warzone’s currently broken Plunder mode to test them all.

He used the good ol’ garage doors to show side-by-side examples of barrel 4 and barrel 6 on each gun. Through methodical testing, we saw the difference between the barrels on the Krig, QBZ, XM4, AK-47, FFAR, Groza, FARA, and C58.

JGOD comparing AR barrels in Warzone

These were JGOD’s favored barrels for each gun:

  • Krig 6: Barrel 4
  • QBZ-83: Barrel 6
  • XM4: Barrel 6
  • AK-47: Either
  • FFAR-1: Either
  • Groza: Barrel 6
  • FARA 83: Barrel 6
  • C58: Either

It’s quite obvious that the 18.5″ Task Force is the preferred barrel for these weapons, and for any where it’s too close to call, you might be better off conducting your own tests to see which feels better.

With Warzone Season 4 very much giving players a healthy amount of balanced Assault Rifles to choose from, it might be well worth trying out some of the above barrels.
