You can use two methods when trying to get Minecraft villagers to decrease their trade prices. The first is by curing a zombie villager, while the second is by completing a raid and becoming the Hero of the Village.

Let’s delve into both these methods.

Curing a Zombie Villager

You must find and trap a Zombie Villager to start the curing process. Zombie villagers, as you might have guessed, are zombified and hostile variants of the villager mob. These mobs mostly spawn at night and can also be found in abandoned villages. Sunlight will kill the mob, so be sure to have a roof over its head.

Once you’ve trapped a Zombie Villager, you’ll need to throw a splash potion of weakness at the mob. This potion is made using a Fermented Spider Eye, Water Bottle, Brewing Stand, Blaze Powder, Gunpowder, and a Crafting table.

Once you throw the splash potion of weakness at the Zombie Villager, it’ll start shaking. This is when you have to feed it a Golden Apple. All you need to do is press your use key on the mob with the Apple equipped, and you’ll be done. The Zombie Villager will turn into a regular villager, which will prompt the other villagers to bring the price down.

Defeating all illagers in a raid

An alternative method is to survive a raid and make sure the village isn’t wiped out during one. Raids take place when you enter a village with the Bad Omen status effect on you. To get this status effect, you’ll have to find a raid caption out in the world of Minecraft and kill him.

During a raid, you’ll have to fight through several waves of different mobs, but once you beat the raid, you’ll be crowned the Hero of the Village, earn an advancement with the same name, and prompt the villagers to give you discounted prices on their wares.
