Epic Games have brought the MK-7 Assault Rifle back to Fortnite in Chapter 3, Season 2 after it went up against the Combat AR in the Funding Station Poll.

The Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 update brought a ton of changes, and players immediately noticed that the popular MK-7 Assault Rifle had been removed from the battle royale’s loot pool.

This is is because Funding Stations made their return this season, and players had to spend Gold in order to bring certain weapons back to the game. Now, the MK-7 has finally made its return to Fortnite.

The MK-7 and Combat AR were both brought back to the Fortnite lootpool from April 2 to April 5. After this, players were given the ability to choose which weapon would stay in the game by voting with Gold Bars.

These weapons were competing against each other in Funding Station Polls until the voting came to an end on April 7, and the MK-7 was finally brought back to stay for the rest of the Season. You can now collect it as floor loot and from Vending machines.

It took a while to get to this result due to some voting errors that led to Epic Games disabling the Funding Stations for approximately 30 hours. Once that was resolved, the gun was added back in all rarities across the map, and the Combat AR will stay vaulted.

The MK-7 received some major nerfs to the damage that it can dish out to players and structures in Season 2, so it’s not the same powerful Mythic weapon that was introduced in Season 1.

Players that voted for the Combat AR at the Funding Station might be disappointed by this outcome, but it’s possible that the developers will make it possible to vote for its return again in a future poll.

At the time of writing, there’s no way to tell exactly when Epic Games will launch those polls but for now, you can enjoy the MK-7’s return to Fortnite and use it to cause some serious pain to your enemies.
