Devs respond to match cancellation issues affecting League Play in Cold War

Treyarch have disabled the match cancellation feature in Black Ops Cold War after it caused problems in League Play.

League Play in BOCW

Treyarch have listened to player feedback and decided to address some of the glaring issues affecting League Play in Black Ops Cold War, including match cancellation issues.

The Zombies invasion of Verdansk is about to come to its epic conclusion, and the highly-anticipated Season 3 of both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is set to begin. So, the devs are working full-time to make this transition smooth.

Listening to player feedback regarding technical problems within League Play has been a main priority for Treyarch, and now they’ve addressed the issue with the match cancellations feature that has been plaguing several players.

BOCW and Warzone Season 3

Treyarch’s Community Manager Josh “FoxhoundFPS” Torres went on Reddit to respond to the alleged glitch in Cold War that prevented ping from tracking. In this same thread, the issue with match cancellations came up as well.

This feature would take effect as soon as one of the players in a match abandoned the game, canceling the match altogether. It was disabled a short while after it was first added, much to the confusion of players.

After addressing the ping glitch, Josh wrote: “Thanks for sharing. Match Cancellations have gone live early, and we’ll be disabling them soon. We’ll have more to share at a later date.”

It’s understandable why the devs thought it would be best to add a cancellation feature. If you’re the only one left on your team in a League Play match, then victory can be near impossible to achieve.

This new feature would ensure that players that don’t have the advantage of numbers on their side wouldn’t get punished. Hopefully, we’ll see get another update regarding this situation from the devs soon.

As with the recent dev action concerning Cold War PS5 controller issues and broken Zombies attachments, we expect all other technical problems to be tended to swiftly.

Best League Play loadouts for Cold War Season 2

Here’s the best League Play loadouts to use in Black Ops Cold War including weapons, equipment, perks, and Field Upgrades.

best cold war league play loadouts

Black Ops Cold War’s League Play is the best place to play like the pros and test your skill in Season 2, so we’ve got everything you need to dominate competitive Call of Duty.

League Play is the ultimate way to play like the pros in Call of Duty without needing a full squad of friends to team up with on websites such as Gamebattles. This mode simulates the Call of Duty League, using the same maps and modes as you’ll see on the CDL stream.

There are ranks to grind up with various rewards to earn, so we’ve picked out the best weapons, perks, Field Upgrades, and more to help you dominate Black Ops Cold War’s League Play.

bocw league play

Best League Play primary weapons

Your primary weapon is the be-all and end-all of your class. You won’t be able to use the Law Breaker Wildcard to equip two primaries, so what you pick is what you’ll need to use.

No matter your role, here are the best primary weapons you can use in Cold War Season 2’s League Play.

Krig-6 Assault Rifle League Play class

Black ops cold war Krig 6
  • Optic: Millstop Reflex
  • Barrel: 19.7″ Ranger Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Grip: Airborne Elastic Wrap
  • Stock: Raider Stock

The Krig-6 is a great choice for any player looking to lock down spawns or hold an objective. We decided to use Atlanta FaZe’s Chris “Simp” Lehr’s loadout for the Krig, due to the versatility of the loadout combined with the great strafe speed and barrel choice.

XM4 League Play class

For this XM4 loadout, we went with OpTic’s Seth “Scump Abner’s mobile and fast-paced XM4 class. To use these attachments, you’ll need the Gunfighter wildcard for additional attachments. Since League Play does not have restrictions on laser sights, you can feel free to equip the Steady Aim Laser.

  • Optic: Microflex LED
  • Muzzle: Infantry Compensator
  • Barrel: 13.7″ Ranger
  • Body: Steady Aim Laser
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Magazine: 40 Round
  • Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
  • Stock: Raider Pad

AK-74u League Play class

Black Ops Cold War Ak-74u
  • Muzzle: Spetsnaz Compensator
  • Barrel: 9.3″ Extended
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Speed Grip
  • Handle: GRU Elastic Wrap
  • Stock: Raider Stock

The AK-74u is one of Cold War’s strongest SMGs. It has great range for a submachine gun, high mobility, and easy to control recoil. It’s effective to rush objectives with, but you can also hang back and use it at medium range.

LC10 League Play class

Black Ops Cold War LC-10
  • Muzzle: Infantry Compensator
  • Barrel: 14.5″ Ranger
  • Underbarrel: SFOD Speedgrip
  • Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
  • Stock: Raider Stock

The LC10 arrived in Black Ops Cold War Season 2 and quickly became one of the best SMGs in the game. With a fast fire rate and minimal recoil, this is the perfect SMG to run onto objectives with. As there are no shotguns in League Play, the LC10 is one of the fastest killing weapons you can use.

LW3 Tundra League Play class

Black ops cold war LW3 Tundra
  • Muzzle: Stabilizer .308
  • Barrel: 28.2″ Tiger Team
  • Underbarrel: Infiltrator Grip
  • Grip: SASR Jungle Grip
  • Stock: Raider Pad

The Tundra is especially helpful in Search & Destroy, taking down enemies with ease. We went with Simp’s loadout due to the mobility of his loadout.

Snipers in Black Ops Cold War are especially deadly, with no flinch penalty, precision accuracy and quick bolt times.

Best League Play Secondary Weapons

Launchers and shotguns have been removed as secondary weapons for League Play, so you’ll need to make do with pistols and melee weapons.

1911 League Play class

black ops cold war 1911
  • Muzzle: Muzzle Break .45 APC
  • Barrel: 6.53″ Task Force
  • Body: Steady Aim Laser
  • Magazine: 12 Rnd Speed Mag
  • Handle: Speed Tape

Accurate and hard-hitting, the 1911 will be of great help while in a pinch. If your primary weapon runs out of ammo, quickly switch to this classic pistol for a quick kill.

Diamatti League Play class

Black Ops Cold War diamatti
  • Muzzle: Muzzle Break 9
  • Barrel: 7.8″ Extended
  • Body: Steady Aim Laser
  • Magazine: 24 Rnd
  • Handle: Speed Tape

Although you can’t use dual wield in League Play, a single Diamatti will still be extremely helpful in League Play.

The three-round burst will rapidly delete enemies’ health and you’ll also be able to navigate the map quickly while carrying it.

Best League Play Lethals and Tacticals

While stims will likely be your best friend in regular Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, they won’t be available in League Play.

Semtex

bocw semtex

For a Lethal grenade, there’s no better option than Semtex. They’re extremely easy to use and will explode shortly after impact.

Get an enemy weak and lob a Semtex at them, or throw it in front of you to dissuade enemies from pushing while you’re one-shot. Plus, if you manage to stick the enemy, it’s an instant kill.

Stun Grenades

Stun Grenades make clearing out rooms much easier. If you know an enemy is in there, throw a Stun Grenade in and push while their hands are thrown in the air.

Even if they have the Tactical Mask equipped, getting a tag with the Stun Grenade will provide vital information.

Smoke Grenades

Pro players have a Gentleman’s Agreement not to use smokes in the CDL but you can still use them with great effect in League Play. With how powerful Snipers are, you can cover your SnD push with easy by putting a smoke down in front of you.

Plus, while in your own smoke, you get much more information than the enemies outside of it do.

Best League Play perks

The best weapons need the best perks to complete the loadout. League Play offers a wide variety of perks to choose from, so we’ve picked out the most useful.

Tactical Mask

black ops cold war tactical mask perk

With Stims not being allowed in League Play, Stun and Flast Grenades will be a lot more common. Getting hit by these Tactical Grenades will put a stop to even the best-executed plans, and Tactical Mask will greatly decrease their effects.

Flak Jacket

Flak Jacket reduces the damage taken from grenades. If you’re not running perk greed, you’ll have to make the call between this and Tactical Mask. We recommend Tactical Mask, as you’ll be hit much more with stun grenades.

However, if your team aren’t using Trophy Systems, you may opt to use this perk instead.

Gearhead

black ops cold war gearhead perk

With how important Field Upgrades are to winning matches of League Play, Gearhead is the perfect perk.

It will allow your Field Upgrades to recharge faster, and you’ll also be allowed to hold two. Getting onto a Hardpoint and chucking down two Trophy Systems in quick succession will make the hill extremely hard to push.

Ninja

Pulling of flanks is one of the most important strategies in League Play, and Ninja will make this a while lot easier.

Getting behind the opposing team and pushing out their spawns will be huge in winning respawn matches. And when you’re the last man alive in SnD, having quiet footsteps will keep the enemies guessing where you are.

Best League Play Field Upgrade

Trophy System

bocw trophy system

Trophy Systems are extremely powerful in the close-range fights of 4v4. While holding a Hardpoint, this Field Upgrade will hold off an onslaught of explosives coming your way.

As an added bonus, if you lose the hill with your Trophy Still on it, it will destroy enemy Field Upgrades as they put them down, and the damage could even kill them.

Take these weapons, perks, and more into League Play with you to dominate the competition and climb the ranks.

And if you’re looking for the best weapons multiplayer has to offer, you can check out our tier list of every Cold War weapon.
