Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 finally has a release date, and Activision showed off Task Force 141 alongside the reveal. Familiar faces are making a return alongside a brand-new character, so here are all of MW2’s confirmed actors so far, along with who they play.

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releasing on October 28, 2022, players are gearing up to reunite with Task Force 141. Modern Warfare 2019 completely rebooted the franchise, recasting the fan-favorite members of Task Force 141 with motion capture technology.

Call of Duty players are desperate to check in with Price, Gaz, and the rest of the gang. So, here’s every actor confirmed to appear in Modern Warfare 2 so far.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 main cast

Captain John Price – Barry Sloane

The man who needs no introduction, Captain Price returns in Modern Warfare 2 with Barry Sloane reprising the role.

Hailing from Liverpool in England, Sloane appeared in a number of British soap operas before starring in Revenge and Navy Seals drama Six. Sloane took over the role of Price in 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot, providing mo-cap and voice acting for the SAS Captain.

Sloane returns in 2022’s Modern Warfare 2, with the captain’s iconic voice opening the key art showcase.

Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick – Elliot Knight

Sergeant Kyle Garrick was one of the three playable protagonists in Modern Warfare 2019 before it was revealed his nickname is Gaz — a fan-favorite character from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Elliot Knight, who has appeared in popular shows such as How to Get Away with Murder and HBO’s Titans, portrayed Gaz in Modern Warfare 2019 and will reprise the role in 2022’s Modern Warfare 2.

Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley – Samuel Roukin

Although Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley didn’t appear in Modern Warfare 2019’s campaign, he arrived in multiplayer and Warzone as part of the Season 2 Battle Pass.

Ghost has one of the most iconic outfits in Call of Duty thanks to his skeletal balaclava. Craig Fairbrass and Jeff Leach previously voiced Ghost, but now Samuel Roukin is stepping up to the plate in Modern Warfare 2.

Roukin is an English actor, writer, and DJ who has appeared in the Oscar-nominated Happy-Go-Lucky, as well as Marvel’s Agents of Shield.

John ‘Soap’ MacTavish – Neil Ellice

After appearing as the mute protagonist of the original Modern Warfare, John ‘Soap’ MacTavish firmly cemented himself in Call of Duty’s hall of fame after Kevin McKidd’s performance in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2.

Soap was teased at the end of 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot and then appeared in multiplayer and Warzone as a playable Operator. Neil Ellice, who has appeared in Loki and the Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn mini-series, voiced the new Soap and returns in 2022’s Modern Warfare 2.

Colonel Alejandro Vargas – Alain Mesa

While everyone else on this list has been seen before, Colonel Alejandro Vargas is brand-new to the Modern Warfare franchise. Vargas is part of the Mexican Special Forces and will join Task Force 141 in their mission — whatever that may be.

Vargas will be played by Alain Mesa, who has provided voice acting in video games such as The Division, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Forza Horizon 5. We’re not sure what role the Mexican Special Forces operative will play in Modern Warfare 2, but he’s set to be a “key member of Task Force 141.”

Kate Laswell – Rya Kihlstedt (unconfirmed)

CIA officer Kate Laswell oversaw Alex’s mission in Urzikstan in Modern Warfare 2019 and has a close working relationship with Captain Price.

As revealed by the dialog in Modern Warfare 2’s release date announcement, Laswell has returned to oversee Task Force 141’s mission. Although Rya Kihlstedt isn’t confirmed to return for the sequel, the voice sounds almost exactly the same.

Kihlstedt has appeared in Home Alone 3, Deep Impact, and most recently, the Superman and Lois TV Series.

Farah Ahmed Karim – Claudia Doumit (rumored)

Alongside Gaz and Alex, Farah Karim was one of Modern Warfare 2019’s playable protagonists. Farah was the Commander of the Urzikstani Liberation Force and joined Alex in his mission to find the missing chemical weapons.

Claudia Doumit, who plays Victoria Neuman in The Boys, portrayed Farah and, if leaks are anything to go by, will return in Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Season 3 Reloaded update appeared to leak MW2’s editions, where players who purchase the Red Team 141 Operator Pack will receive Farah as a playable Operator, but it remains to be seen if Doumit returned for the sequel.

Modern Warfare 2 MP Map images leak via CoD Warzone Mobile files

First images of Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer maps have leaked via Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile game files, including Ground War maps.

Published

on

First images of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer maps have leaked from being included in the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Closed Alpha build, which released in select testing regions under NDA in May.

The Warzone Mobile, also known as Project Aurora, is in closed alpha testing, but as users get hands on with the different builds on iOS and Android, they’ve found a batch of Modern Warfare 2, and even Treyarch’s Call of Duty 2024, content in the files.

The images in the files are that of each map’s loading screen image. Activision is sending DMCA and copyright notices over these images, so will not be hosting the images on the site. The Warzone Mobile Closed Alpha is under signed NDA, with no gameplay or imagery allowed to be shared from it.

The leaker on Twitter claims to have access to many of the loading screens for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps and has a posted a few 6v6 map images, along with some Ground War map images.

Modern Warfare 2 Maps Leak

The first map shown is called ‘Grand Prix,’ which was confirmed to be a map in June as part of the game’s reveal. Grand Prix is set in Asia.

Oilfeld is the second map. This looks to take place in a desert landscape area.

The third map that the leaker has posted is Museum. This map has the most colors, from the imagery shown, and supports a variety of play styles.

The fourth map was only mentioned by its code name, SABA. Information on this map beyond its images are not known at this time, nor is its final release name confirmed.

Modern Warfare 2 Ground War Maps Images

The leaker has also shared images of 2 Modern Warfare 2 Ground War MP Maps.

The first Ground War map leaked is Hydro, which takes place in desert landscape with water flowing through the center. As confirmed by Infinity Ward, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 engine supports swimming, which means maps will feature areas of water.

The next map for Ground War leaked is ‘Fishtown.’

The third Ground War map is Sira.

As previously mentioned by Infinity Ward, the Ground War maps will come together to form the new Warzone 2 map.

Modern Warfare 2 MP Map Codenames

In addition, the leaker also shared a list of the codenames for all of the MP maps currently in the files for Modern Warfare 2 MP.

Some of the maps are leftover from Modern Warfare 2019, while the rest are code names, or ship names, for the 2022 game.

Activision has not commented on why the Warzone Mobile’s files contains all of these Modern Warfare 2 images . The company will issue DMCA notices to anyone who posts all of the leaks across the internet.

So far, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 MP has not been officially revealed beyond a few details. No timeline for the MP reveal is known. Activision has confirmed that there will be an Open Beta ahead of the game’s launch.

We’ve shared some information on the MP mode, including the new Gunsmith, AI features, and first details on some of the maps.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 officially launches October 28 across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (Battle.net and Steam).

Stay tuned for the latest updates on Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 as launch approaches.

Modern Warfare 2 fans think game could get custom modes with Steam Workshop

Modern Warfare 2 could offer Steam Workshop support, allowing players to create custom modes to share with others.

Published

on

CoD players are beginning to believe that Modern Warfare 2 could offer custom modes created by fans, after a user spotted a hint that the game will support Steam Workshop on PC.

For the first time since the early 2000s, there will be no Call of Duty title in 2023 after Treyarch’s next project was pushed back by a year. This means that Modern Warfare 2 will have to keep players occupied for twice as long as usual.

While Infinity Ward is cramming plenty of interesting new features and mechanics into the Modern Warfare 2 campaign and multiplayer, keeping the community engaged until 2024 will be no easy task.

According to one eagle-eyed player, fan-made modes could be a way of extending Modern Warfare 2’s longevity, as they noticed a hint that the game could feature Steam Workshop support.

Steam Workshop is part of Valve’s service where players can share mods and custom creations for their favorite games that support the feature. According to Reddit user AnotherGibaway, Modern Warfare 2 could be one of these games when it launches in Novmember.

They claimed that they were following the game on Steam, meaning they receive a notification when mods are released on Steam Workshop, and they received one recently for Modern Warfare 2.

The OP said: “Only games that are being planned to receive Workshop support or already have it implemented receive the ‘Workshop items posted this week’ updates. I just saw this for MWII.

“You’ll have to take my word as I don’t have any way to prove this obviously, but if you’re following the game, go on your community home page and see if you get it.”

Mods are a popular way to breathe new life into a game, allowing the community to get creative and share new, interesting features with one another. This is why a series like Halo introduced Custom Games to let players experiment with wacky ideas.

As another poster pointed out, with Infinity Ward reportedly working on an Escape From Tarkov-inspired mode called DMZ instead, fans could even make their own Zombies mode through Steam Workshop.

For now, this is all just speculation until the developers confirm that mods will be supported. But there’s no doubt that Steam Workshop could be an interesting method of letting players engage with Modern Warfare 2 in a different way.

How to get free Warzone Final Judgement bundle with Modern Warfare 2

Modern Warfare 2 players can claim the free Final Judgement bundle for Warzone and Vanguard, so here’s everything you need to know.

Published

on

Call of Duty players are desperate to get their hands on Modern Warfare 2 in October and in the run-up, players can unlock Vanguard and Warzone’s Final Judgement bundle for free. Here’s everything in the bundle and how to get it.

Modern Warfare 2 arrives on October 28, meaning that with Warzone Pacific Season 4 in full swing, it’s only around four months away. 2022’s CoD brings ‘Warzone 2.0,’ new movement mechanics, and takes Task Force 141 around the world in a new campaign.

Players can already unlock all of the previously released Ghost skins as part of MW2’s Vault Edition, but in the run-up to release, players can also get their hands on a new Store bundle for free.

Here’s how Modern Warfare 2 players can unlock the free Final Judgement bundle in Vanguard and Warzone.

How to get free Final Judgement bundle in Vanguard & Warzone

Vanguard and Warzone players can get their hands on the Final Judgement bundle by pre-ordering Modern Warfare 2’s digital edition. The bundle usually costs 1500 CoD Points (~$15/£13) so it’s a great deal if you plan on purchasing Modern Warfare 2 anyway.

It must be a digital pre-order for it to register, so make sure you’ve pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Battle.net, or Steam. If pre-ordering through Steam, you should also ensure your profile is connected to your Call of Duty/Activision ID.

What’s included in Warzone Final Judgement bundle?

Warzone and Vanguard’s Final Judgement bundle comes with a medieval executioner-themed Operator skin for Lucas, an Automaton Blueprint, as well as a Calling Card, Emblem, and Sticker.

Here’s everything included in Warzone and Vanguard’s Final Judgement bundle:

  • Deathknell Lucas Skin
  • Bloodthirsty Automaton Blueprint
  • Death’s Judgement Calling Card
  • Underworldly Emblem
  • Devil’s Head Reticle
  • Night Stalk Sticker
  • I Look Intimidating Lucas Quip
  • Bloody Nose Lucas Quip

This bundle is especially useful if you’re a fan of the Automaton, as it comes equipped with essentially the meta build for Warzone, so you don’t need to worry about ruining its look by changing attachments.

PlayStation players can also get their hands on the free Season 4 Combat Pack, so be sure to check out how.
