Call of Duty expert TheXclusiveAce has revealed that the Season 3 update finally fixed a major Ghost bug that was plaguing Modern Warfare 2 matches since Season 1.

The Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 update arrived on April 12 and it brought a ton of new content to the game, including new maps, weapons, Operators, and the Gunfight mode. The patch notes also revealed buffs and nerfs to several weapons that are sure to impact the meta.

While the patch notes detail most of the changes that the devs implemented with the major seasonal update, there are often hidden changes that won’t appear in the patch notes.

When it comes to the Season 3 update, Call of Duty expert TheXclusiveAce took the time to reveal a major hidden change that finally fixes stealth play in Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 Ghost & suppressor bug fix explained

In Modern Warfare 2, players with the Ghost Perk who fire an unsuppressed weapon will appear on the minimap when an enemy UAV is in the air.

Moreover, when players equipped with the Ghost Perk and a suppressed weapon fire their gun, they should not appear on the minimap when an enemy UAV is active. Unfortunately, since the start of Modern Warfare 2’s life cycle, this has not been the case.

In Season 1 and Season 2, players with Ghost and a suppressed weapon would appear on the minimap for a few seconds after firing, leaving them vulnerable to UAV sweeps. This bug caused players’ Ghost Perk to deactivate when firing a suppressed weapon.

According to TheXclusiveAce: “They finally fixed the Ghost and suppressor interaction in this game.”

Following the Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 update, when an enemy UAV is active, players with the Ghost Perk equipped will no longer appear on the minimap when firing a suppressed weapon.

“It’s now working the way it should have been working from the beginning, where if you fire a suppressed gun it doesn’t disable your Ghost Perk.”

This will allow players to preserve their stealth gameplay by staying off the enemy’s radar permanently, with the exception of an Advanced UAV. The change should make suppressors extremely viable in Season 3.

Luckily for those looking to equip the newly buffed suppressor attachments, TheXclusiveAce highlights some of the best in the video above including the Echoline GS-X, FR Titan Silencer, Forge DX90-F, and FSS Covert V.
