When it comes to slide canceling in Modern Warfare 2, it seems the devs will use beta feedback to inform their decision on whether or not to bring the movement feature back.

Call of Duty fans are expected to get their first in-depth look at Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer at the upcoming CoD Next event on September 15. Shortly after, on September 16, the Modern Warfare 2 beta will be available, giving players their first hands-on experience with the new title.

Thanks to Infinity Ward’s Intel Drops, the devs have revealed several new features coming to Modern Warfare 2 including improved audio. Warzone fans have been keeping a close eye on the announcement of new features as Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will share the same engine.

This means that gameplay features like the aforementioned improved audio will appear in both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Another feature that has piqued players’ interest is the presence of slide canceling in both games.

Slide canceling has long been a divisive topic in the Call of Duty community, and according to leaker Metaphor, the devs will use feedback from Modern Warfare 2’s beta to decide whether or not to bring slide canceling back.

Metaphor suggests that slide canceling will not be in the Modern Warfare 2 beta. Instead, the leaker claims that the devs will use player feedback to inform their decision to bring back slide canceling. The devs reportedly have the option to turn the feature on and off.

While it’s great that the devs are looking for player feedback to make such a vital decision, it seems players remain divided when it comes to the inclusion of slide canceling in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

The replies to Metaphor’s above Tweet had some players hoping slide canceling would stay, “hope slide cancelling stays but honestly this sounds hype,” while others took the opposite stance, “No slide canceling please.”

Meanwhile, one player believes that slide canceling isn’t the issue and instead urges the devs to ensure that the game operates smoothly at launch: “Imo slide cancelling is fine they just need to make it so the server doesn’t lag when it happens.”
