Modern Warfare 2 finally arrives on PC and consoles on October 28, but players can get their hands on the game early thanks to the Campaign’s Early Access. PC players can pre-load the full Modern Warfare 2 game as of October 26 ahead of its global launch just two days later.

With the release date fast approaching, Infinity Ward have revealed the minimum and recommended PC requirements for Modern Warfare 2. Here are the full PC specs and how they compare to Warzone and Vanguard.

Modern Warfare 2 minimum PC requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 – 64 Bit (latest update)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 / Core i5-2500k or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 470
  • Video Memory: 2GB
  • Hi-Rez Assets Cache: Up to 32GB
  • RAM: 8GB RAM
  • Storage Space: 75GB at launch
  • Recommended Graphic Drivers: NVIDIA: 516.59 or AMD: 22.9.1

Modern Warfare 2’s minimum PC specs aren’t a huge jump from 2019’s Modern Warfare, which would make sense as the game is still being developed for last-gen consoles.

If you could run both Modern Warfare and Vanguard smoothly then your rig should also run Modern Warfare 2’s but you might need to turn down a few more graphics settings to reach your desired frame rate.

  • OS: Windows 10 – 64 Bit (latest update) or Windows 11 – 64 Bit (latest update)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K / Core i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580
  • Video Memory: 4GB
  • Hi-Rez Assets Cache: Up to 32GB
  • RAM: 12GB RAM
  • Storage Space: 72GB at launch
  • Recommended Graphic Drivers: NVIDIA: 516.79 or AMD: 21.9.1

Of course, the Modern Warfare 2 recommended PC specs are more demanding than the minimum, but players shouldn’t need to invest in a major upgrade if coming from Vanguard and Warzone.

The recommended GPUs are the same as Vanguard, but you’ll need to upgrade the CPU. According to Infinity Ward, with this hardware, you should be able to crank up the graphics settings while maintaining a high frame rate.
