Ahead of the long-awaited release of Modern Warfare 2, fans have picked out the useful CoD Mobile feature they want to see in the game.

Modern Warfare 2 is almost here and the new era of Call of Duty is about to begin. Since there is expected to be no mainline CoD release in 2023, the pressure is on Infinity Ward to keep fans occupied for two years with a quality game.

With the Modern Warfare 2 beta set to arrive in the coming days, it won’t be long before we get our first look at what this year’s multiplayer has in store, from new weapons to classic maps.

While hopes will no doubt be high for major innovations in Modern Warfare 2, players have actually picked out an existing quality of life feature from CoD Mobile that they want to see make the jump onto the console and PC titles.

CoD Mobile allows fans to compare in-depth weapon stats, giving them a clear breakdown of how a simple change in attachment will affect the gun’s performance in a match. The likes of Vanguard and Warzone give a broad comparison in areas like damage and accuracy, but CoD Mobile provides much more detailed information.

The menus show a complete analysis of a weapon’s stats, including bullet speed, sprint-to-fire time, and even damage distribution on each body part. Reddit user Michaeloa13 uploaded a clip where they compared attachments on the AS VAL, helping them decide on the perfect Barrel.

“This better be in the game,” they said in the post. “No way a FTP mobile game has better QOL features than a $70 game.”

As it stands currently, players that want such a detailed breakdown of in-game numbers need to use a third-party website such as TrueGameData. There is no way within the games themselves to get a clear picture of each individual stat.

Based on the comments from the post, it seems that the community would love to see these options come to Modern Warfare 2.

“Detailed stats page is a must, if they can go even more detailed that’s even better,” said one reply. “COD: Mobile gets all the best features first. Lots of QOL features like this one that should be in their flagship games,” said another.

A feature like this in Modern Warfare 2 would give players greater control over their loadouts and let them really tailor each weapon to suit their playstyle. This would especially suit higher skilled players, who are constantly looking for the optimal builds to give them an edge in every fight.

There’s no word yet on whether or not Infinity Ward have included an in-depth stat comparison as part of Modern Warfare 2’s new Gunsmith system, but players are clearly hoping they take cues from CoD Mobile in this regard.

We’ll likely learn more during the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal at Call of Duty Next, and during the Open Beta.
