Call of Duty fans will experience a blast from the past as two legendary multiplayer maps are set to hit Modern Warfare 2 during Season 1 of the game.

There’s nothing quite like the launch of a brand-new Call of Duty game, and with Modern Warfare 2 right around the corner, fans are eager to get their hands on everything the game has to offer.

During the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta, players were limited to a select few maps. When Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer launches on October 28, players will be able to discover all of the maps in the game.

In addition to the core maps at launch, the devs often deliver new multiplayer maps as part of seasonal updates. On October 18, Activision confirmed that a fan-favorite multiplayer map will be making its way to Modern Warfare 2 on November 16 with the launch of Season 1.

The good news doesn’t stop there as they also confirmed that a second “legendary multiplayer map” would arrive on December 14 with the start of Season 1 Reloaded.

While there’s currently no information about which two fan-favorite maps could be making a return to Modern Warfare 2, there have been plenty of leaks addressing classic maps since the game was announced.

Players are beginning to speculate that the new maps are tied to an Al Mazrah POI. In case you missed it, some of Warzone 2.0‘s Al Mazrah map contains POIs made up of classic Call of Duty maps.

We’ll have to wait and see to discover the identity of the mystery throwback maps.

We’ll keep you up to date with the latest information concerning new Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps as more news should be revealed ahead of Season 1 on November 16 and Season 1 Reloaded on December 14.
