Modern Warfare 3 writer, Will Staples, now working on Mission Impossible 5

Will Staples has just obtained a new gig and is now writing the Mission Impossible 5 movie. Staples is known for his work on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 story and the Need for Speed Rivals movie.

Hollywood Reporters reports that Paramount, Skydance, and Tom Cruise tapped Will Staples to lead the charge on writing Mission Impossible 5, which is currently scheduled to be released on Dec. 25th, 2015.

Staples’ previous work has been mostly in video games. He worked on Need for Speed: Rivals and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. He’s attached to several films in development, including Blood & Treasure, a starring and directing vehicle for Ben Affleck set up at Warner Bros. He also wrote Myth for Fox and the Jeremy Renner vehicle King of Heists. He’s repped by WME, Management 360 and Bloom Hergott.
