Even though the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot was launched in 2019, there are still lots of players who play it. Unfortunately, the launch of Warzone Pacific Caldera appears to have broken the game, leaving fans incredibly frustrated.

New isn’t always better, and that’s the case for players who own the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. Despite being two years old and Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard arriving in that time, Modern Warfare still has a decent player base.

At least it did. Warzone’s long-awaited new Caldera map update appears to have had massive detrimental effects on Modern Warfare, leaving players furious.

The Warzone Pacific update has apparently broken Modern Warfare and multiple Reddit posts have expressed their displeasure about this.

“Is this the killing blow for MW?” has well over 2K upvotes, and talks about how “Raven’s new Warzone update and the engine changes completely broke MW.”

More evidence suggests that Modern Warfare is currently unplayable with one user submitting a thread called: “RIP MW we had a good run.” The body of the post suggests that games of Modern Warfare have “high pings on multiplayer games.”

One final Reddit post passionately broke down the state of Modern Warfare at present and explained what exactly is going on with it.

The user said: “Been playing this game since it came out. It was perfect. I loved it. Even when it wasn’t perfect, it was still wonderful. Holy mother of god how do you f**k something up that was running so smooth. It is currently unplayable. I don’t care about any updates, any new stuff, I just want the game to run.”

Not only do people enjoy playing Modern Warfare to level up guns for Warzone, but the game recaptured the magic of the series for many. Given how much is on Activision’s plate at the moment, it remains to be seen if Modern Warfare gets the necessary updates.
