As announced on July 27, PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation 4 can download and play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered for free. MW2 Campaign Remastered is one of the FREE PS Plus games for August.

The game is yours to keep as long as you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription.

The single-player campaign has been fully remastered with improved textures, animations, physically based rendering, high-dynamic range lighting and much more. Rediscover classic missions like Cliffhanger, The Gulag and Whiskey Hotel as you once again join Soap, Price, Ghost and the rest of Task Force 141 in a globe-spanning fight to restore order to the world. Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle not included.

As noted in the legal text, this is only a download for the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. PS Plus players will not get the UDT Classic Ghost Bundle in Modern Warfare and Warzone. For those interested in getting the UDT Bundle, you will have to purchase the $19.99 version of the Campaign Remastered.

MW2 Campaign Remastered first launched on March 31 on PS4 for $19.99. The game does not include MP. Activision said they have “no plans” to release MP as they don’t want to split the community.

MW2 Campaign Remastered is NOT available in Russia on PS4.
