The title is one of the most accessible sports games, available on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and even Nintendo Switch. But which players can face off against each other online? Here’s a look at NBA 2K25’s cross-platform status.

Will NBA 2K25 have crossplay?

NBA 2K25 will feature crossplay between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. This limited cross-platform availability does not include PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC players.

The official FAQ page for the game states that PS5 and Series X|S players can enjoy “cross-platform competition in co-op matches and online tournaments.” The feature debuted in NBA 2K24, and players can enjoy it again this year.

For the first time ever with NBA 2K25, PC players will receive the new-gen version of the game. This led many to wonder whether PC would be included in this year’s crossplay functionality. However, this has been confirmed not to be the case.

OFFICIAL: NBA 2K25 on PC will be New Gen, which means that all associated modes and features, excluding crossplay, will be available to play on PC via Steam. This includes MyCAREER, MyTEAM, Play Now and, for the first time on PC – ProPLAY, The City, MyNBA Eras, and The W.

How to turn off crossplay on PlayStation & Xbox

PlayStation

• Open NBA 2K25 and go to the main menu.
• Go to Features and select Settings.
• Scroll until you see the Crossplay setting.
• Toggle Crossplay from on to off.

Xbox

1. Open the Xbox menu and navigate to Settings
2. Scroll down to Account and select Privacy & Online Safety.
3. Select Xbox Privacy and then View details & customize.
4. Click on Communication & Multiplayer.
5. Go over to the You can join cross-network play section and switch the setting from allow to block.

NBA 2K25 cross-progression explained

NBA 2K25 features cross-progression between platforms within the same console family for MyTeam progress and your VC Wallet.

Cross-progression between PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo is not available. The feature is exclusive to consoles within the same family

In terms of MyTeam, here’s what content falls under cross-progression: “all MyTEAM Points, cards and progress.” The devs also clarified that VC will appear across consoles of the same family: “Shared VC Wallet allows any earned or purchased VC to be accessible across generations of consoles in the same console family.”
