New GTA 6 map leak shows updated look at Vice City

Another GTA 6 leak has shown an updated image of a Vice City map, adding roads and details to an old satellite image rumor.

A new Grand Theft Auto 6 map leak has appeared online, allegedly giving fans a look at an updated version of Vice City and the surrounding area.

It’s been seven years since Rockstar released GTA V, the open-world sandbox that changed gaming forever. It’s no surprise then that fans of the series are desperate for any news regarding a sequel, even though the franchise’s developers have yet to even confirm they are working on it.

There’s been plenty of rumors about where a possible GTA 6 game could be set, from London to Liberty City, South America to Las Vegas. One of the most popular theories is a return to Vice City, taking players back to the Miami-inspired city for the first time since 2002.

Leakers are adding even more fuel to that fire, with a new image posted online showing what appears to be an updated and larger version of Vice City.

Back in 2018, an image showing a top-down look at what appeared to be Vice City surfaced online, claiming to be an early look at the GTA 6 map. The image looked realistic but lacked things like points of interest and roads.

Almost three years later, a second version of this satellite image has appeared on the internet, this time with roads weaving through the southern part of the map.

This image makes it appear that Rockstar has been working on the map, as previously only the north-eastern part of the map had been populated. If this image is legitimate, it’s clear that we’re getting the most expansive Vice City location ever, similar to what happened with Los Santos and San Andreas in GTA V.

As with any supposed leak, fans are split on how true this image is. Some point to the Red Dead Redemption 2 map that leaked years before release that ended up being accurate, suggesting that this could be what’s happening with Vice City and GTA 6.

Others are less convinced, stating that the image is blurry to hide the fact it’s fake, while others believe it just doesn’t look right, and believe it looks more like a Just Cause map than one for Grand Theft Auto.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until an official announcement from Rockstar before we know for certain where the game is based. With the company set to appear at E3 2021 in June, and job listings claiming the game may be close to completion, we may not have long to wait before we get official word.

gta online meet up

The Los Santos Tuners update introduced the LS Car Meet, and this week players can get the Dinka RT3000 free as the GTA Online’s Prize Ride January 13 vehicle.

While players are enjoying The Contract update, the Los Santos Tuners update was certainly up there with the Cayo Perico update in terms of an important content drop for GTA Online. Many players love to earn lots of money, buy amazing, fast cars, mod them how they see fit, and parade them around the city.

As well as adding new cars and collectibles, the update also welcomed a fun new challenge for players to complete. GTA Online’s Ardent Prize Ride can be obtained by meeting a certain requirement, and we’ll detail everything below.

How to unlock GTA Online’s free RT3000 Los Santos Tuners Prize Ride

To get the RT3000, you’ll need to place in the Top 2 in Street Races for five days in a row to complete the Prize Ride challenge.

Each week, players can unlock a new vehicle for free at the LS Car Meet. From January 13, players will be able to get their hands on this awesome car, but only until January 20, 2022.

That’s the simple condition you will need to meet to win the car for yourself. Given that it normally costs $1,715,000, it’s definitely worth trying to get!

Here’s Rockstar’s official description of the RT3000:

There’s more power behind the Dinka RT3000 than the Palmer-Taylor Power Station when they break out the party dust, start the rave, and let the reactor do its thing. It’s not a complicated formula, but it works.

A new week means a new GTA Online update, with January 13’s patch including the new Nagasaki Shinobi motorbike, a new Double Down mode, and the Jugular added as this week’s Podium reward.

2022 is kicking off with a bang, with GTA Online offering players plenty of free content after the huge Contract DLC update.

The series as a whole is in an interesting place right now as the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S re-release is due in early 2022, GTA 6 is apparently stuck in development hell, and the GTA Trilogy has had a tough time with players lamenting countless glitches that have made the game the lowest-rated Metacritic title ever.

However, one element of the franchise that remains steadfast is GTA Online as Rockstar keeps pumping it full of changes and content to maintain its status as an absolute moneymaking success for the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

GTA players beg Rockstar to finally fix “cardboard” body armor

GTA Online players are calling for the developers to make some major changes to the game’s ‘cardboard’ body armor.

GTA online character lying on top of money

GTA Online players are frustrated with the state of body armor in the game, criticizing it for being like “cardboard” and are calling for the developers to make some major changes.

GTA Online features a plethora of different activities for you to try out. You can even battle other players with a wide selection of powerful weapons. However, your opponents can also use these guns to take you out.

One way of defending yourself is purchasing body armor to lessen the damage done to you by bullets. While this sounds ideal, players have complained that this item doesn’t offer much protection.

Body armor in GTA 5

Reddit user ‘codmike86’ made a post criticizing the body armor in the GTA Online subreddit. Their main complaint was that the item is “as tough as cardboard” when this game is almost a decade old.

“There’s no point in wearing body armor at all if it takes is 3 bullets,” wrote the Redditor. “Can’t even stack the light armor when purchasing it.” Many other players shared this sentiment in the comments.

“The thing that annoys me is that fall damage or getting hit by vehicles eats the armor bar because it makes no sense,” commented one frustrated user. “I only use it before gunfights now.”

Now, players are calling for Rockstar Games to make some major changes to the in-game body armor. They want the item to be able to endure more gunfire, making it worth the purchase.

Some users jokingly stated that the NPCs are more resistant against gunfire than body armor. “I want the nanolaminate energy-shielded binco shirts the NPCs all have that allow them to inhale 15-20 bullets to the chest,” one commenter sarcastically stated.

At the time of writing, Rockstar Games haven’t announced any upcoming changes to the body armor in GTA Online. So, players will need to take cover in order to avoid taking too much damage.
