Recent tweets from prominent industry insider and leaker Tom Henderson has added more fuel to rumors that Battlefield 2021 will have a day one launch on Xbox Game Pass.

We’re supposedly only a few days off from Battlefield 6’s official reveal. A ton of unverified rumors and leaks have surrounded the title, including its setting, a possible free-to-play battle royale, and the possibility that it’ll release without a campaign.

One of the most exciting rumors is that Battlefield 6 will release on Xbox Game Pass, day one. Tom Henderson, an industry insider who has leaked a ton of information surrounding Battlefield 2021, has given a tongue-in-cheek hint that the game will arrive on Xbox Game Pass.

Battlefield 6 Xbox Game Pass

This rumor was first put forward following a leak that “There is a third party, Triple-A, first-person shooter that is very highly likely to be launching in Game Pass this fall.” With there only being two AAA FPS titles slated for fall, Call of Duty 2021, and Battlefield 6, Battlefield is the most likely candidate.

“So many people are going to move from CoD to Battlefield in the next 12 months,” Tom Henderson tweeted on April 28. “I’m that confident I even sold all my $ATVI stock for $EA,” he added with a laughing emoji.

He followed up the tweet with an FYI – “Selling my stock has nothing to do with premium sales of Battlefield.”

This has led fans to speculate he’s referencing Battlefield 2021 arriving on Xbox Game Pass. If Battlefield is on Game Pass day one, the player base will be much larger than premium sales indicate. Free-to-play games like Warzone and Fortnite survive through selling cosmetic items, and Battlefield 6 could follow suit.

Henderson has weighed in on the subject before, theorizing that “the biggest reason Battlefield will come to the Xbox Game Pass on day 1 is to boost up player numbers.” With it now being confirmed that the title will only arrive on next-gen consoles and PC, Henderson believes Xbox Game Pass will boost those numbers up.

Now, however, he appears to think that Battlefield 6 will take a large portion of Call of Duty’s player base, and it not being through premium sales only further validates the Game Pass rumors.

The trailer is expected to drop in early May, which we hope will clear up all of the unanswered questions surrounding Battlefield 2021.
