Some new leaks have emerged which suggest that Epic Games will be adding the sliding mechanic from Call of Duty: Warzone to Fortnite in a future update.

Battle Royale titles are highly competitive, and fans often call for these games to take inspiration from each other. Apex Legends players want Warzone’s matchmaking, and Warzone fans want Halo: Infinite’s Battle Pass system.

Now, some new leaks have revealed that Epic Games might be planning to add a feature from Warzone to Fortnite, as the game will reportedly get a sliding movement mechanic soon.

These leaks came from notable data miner HYPEX, who claims that the Fortnite developers are working on a new movement type in the game. This will come with a few benefits for players.

“It will increase your FOV by 15 when you’re sliding and it will make your camera shake, with a cooldown of 2 seconds,” HYPEX tweeted. “I don’t know the release date or if it’s gonna be an item!”

This sliding movement has been a staple of both Apex Legends and Warzone, so it might provide to be an exciting addition to Fortnite.

It’s worth keeping in mind that this is currently just a leak, and you should take this information with a grain of salt until Epic Games confirms this. If it’s true, then this might be an exciting change.

The developers could introduce a cooldown timer so that players don’t abuse this mechanic in combat. If it arrives in the game soon, then we will probably see some big changes in player tactics.

We’ll keep checking for updates regarding this. For more Fortnite, check out all the Bounty Board Locations in Season 8, and stay tuned to Charlie INTEL!
