Epic Games are working on bringing more Mandalorian content to Fortnite, with a leak revealing a new Mandalorian-themed pickaxe in the works.

Fortnite Season 5 has crossed-over with Star Wars, as fan-favorite character The Mandalorian is included in the Battle Pass. Not only can you play as Din Djarin, but you can also find his crashed ship, have Baby Yoda follow you around, and defeat him to equip his rifle and jetpack.

The Mandalorian is unlocked when you purchase Season 5’s Battle Pass, and then you can upgrade him as you progress through the tiers. Like the show, as you complete quests, you unlock more pieces of Beskar steel. It’s then used to upgrade the Mandalorian’s armor.

Leaked cosmetics

Fortnite data miner and leaker SmearReddit found files that reveal another Mandalorian themed cosmetic has been worked on by Epic Games.

In a post on Reddit, Smear shared that they found an upcoming pickaxe codenamed ‘Cosmos Weapon.’ They pointed out that ‘Cosmos’ is the codename for The Mandalorian in the game-files, which was used to throw off data miners.

The pickaxe has no image, instead having a Work in Progress placeholder. As for name and description, it reads ‘TBD.’

There are a couple of options for what the Mandalorian pickaxe could be. It’s most likely the Beskar Staff. This weapon first appeared in Season 2 of the show and is a staff made from the same strong metal as his armor.

There’s also a possibility that it could be the Darksaber. This is a black lightsaber which features in the Star Wars TV shows, including The Mandalorian. So far in the series, Din Djarin doesn’t own or wield The Darksaber although this could happen later and Epic is being extra cautious so that a Fortnite leak doesn’t spoil the show.

With the Mandalorian playing a key role in Fortnite Season 5, it’s likely that the character will receive several new cosmetics over the course of the season.
