New, Redesigned Call of Duty ELITE Launches

Published

on

Beachhead Studio appears to have launched a brand new look of the Call of Duty ELITE service. This new look feels and works a lot better than how it was previously. There are now separate sections for each game, and even more complex ways to explore the service.

Instead of the Compete, Career, etc being on the left sidebar, those have been moved to the top under ‘Browse’, making the site look cleaner as well.

Some new looks and features that Beachhead has stated in the new “News” tab:

  • Clan HQ: The hub of clans. Create a powerhouse clan from scratch or join an already existing one. Connect with your squadmates and show off your clan’s winnings
  • Player HQ: Your Call of Duty stats across the titles you have played. Track players, isolate in game challenges and edit your custom classes right from your computer.
  • ELITE News: The new source of all your Call of Duty information. Check in for sneak peaks at upcoming Call of Duty content.

The entire layout of Elite has been redesigned, and we are really enjoying the new look!

Activision has posted an official FAQ regarded the new design here.

Note: If you are having trouble accessing ELITE, the service status page states that ELITE is ‘down’.

FIFA 22 players slam referees for blowing whistle early

FIFA 22 players are becoming increasingly frustrated with how early referees blow their whistle before half-time and full-time.

A complaint from previous years appears to have returned as FIFA 22 players are frustrated with referees blowing the half-time and full-time whistle when a goal is about to be scored.

FIFA 22 carries on the tradition of EA presenting simulated football across Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and a variety of other entertaining modes. But not everything can be nailed perfectly, and referees have always been a contentious issue in football games.

One of the most notorious complaints regarding artificial referees is their apparent lack of awareness and understanding of football context.

This has been highlighted with a clip showing a player being denied a blatant goal because of the ref blowing the whistle early.

Real-life referees need to have common sense when it comes to how a football match plays out as not all scenarios have concrete outcomes.

Sadly, A.I can only do so much, and xboxboi12 found this out the hard way when they were robbed of a guaranteed goal during their Pro Clubs match.

Right at the end of the first half of their Pro Clubs game, the opposition defender made a mistake, was dispossessed, and the player that nicked the ball squared it to the OP to tap into an empty goal…or so they thought.

As the ball hit the back of the net, with the clock still just about on the screen, you can hear the referee blow the half-time whistle, just before the ball crossed the line.

There was clearly no offside in the build-up to the goal as the defender kicked it against the attacking team, and the pass to the OG poster went backward.

It’s a case of the clock probably being a bit over what is considered to be the allotted time, and because the ball was passed and deemed to be “loose,” the ref blew his whistle.

This goes back to the real-life argument as if this scenario occurred during a real match, a referee would never blow the whistle if someone was shooting into an open goal.

Given that this is a problem that has featured in many different FIFA games, it’s unlikely that EA is going to patch it in FIFA 22.

Black Ops Cold War players are not happy with new LAPA SMG

The LAPA is a new SMG for Black Ops Cold War in Season 6, but fans have complained that it may not be as useful in-game as they hoped.

LAPA in Black Ops Cold War

Black Ops Cold War Season 6 is the last hurrah for the latest CoD entry before Vanguard takes center stage. Unfortunately, the new LAPA SMG has players talking for the wrong reasons since its addition in the last major update.

Black Ops Cold War Season 6 is the last chapter before the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard on November 5.

Developers added a whole host of new content for Season 6, from a new Battle Pass to a host of Halloween-themed challenges.

Unfortunately, not all of the new additions have gone down well among the community, with the new LAPA SMG in particular user under fire from fans.

LAPA in Black Ops Cold War

Reddit user PartyImpOP posted expressing their confusion on what the purpose of the LAPA is when its characteristics are compared with other weapons in the same class.

“…the only thing this thing has is relatively good handling, which is hardly even significant considering all SMGs carry that trait anyways,” said the user.

“It’s the slowest killing SMG, and depends on headshots to simply equal the body shot TTK of other SMGs, and has a very slow muzzle velocity to the point where it becomes almost unusable.”

They go on to say that the LAPA is a less effective version of the Milano 821 or AK-74u, meaning that there is little reason to choose it in multiplayer modes.

PartyImpOP also slammed the rest of the Season 6 content, such as “the worst weapon in the Call of Duty history” in the Battle Axe.

Other players were quick to respond to the post, calling the new additions in Season 6 “filler” content at the end of the game’s life in the spotlight.

“Honestly, they were probably just afraid to release more broken weapons right before they abandon ship on this game,” added another Reddit user.

Warzone and Black Ops Cold War The Haunting event challenges rewards

While The Haunting event has been a hit for the most part for Call of Duty fans, it’s clear that some of the new content is living up to expectations.

With so little time before Vanguard drops, it remains to be seen if Raven will take steps to make the LAPA more useful.
