Following Fortnite’s 15.40 update, new and leaked voice lines hint at a massive event to round off Chapter 2 Season 5.

The 15.40 update is now live, and another update means more game files for data miners to sift through and discover what’s coming. Upcoming skins and cosmetics have already been found, but new information points towards Season 5 ending with another massive event.

Season 4 ended with a bang, with players teaming up with Marvel Superheroes to defeat Galactus. Fortnite went down for a few hours, then Season 5 kicked off with Jonesy recruiting Hunters from around the universe and pop culture to defend the Zero Point.

Although we’re still a month out from Season 6, new voice lines have given us a taste of what the next Season-ending event may hold.

New Fortnite voice lines

A few characters have had their voice lines updated following the 15.40 update. Lexa’s voice lines have been updated for her brother Orin’s arrival, but this is insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

Further voice lines found by leaker HYPEX appear to be far more significant for Fortnite’s storyline.

Bunker Jonesy saying: “Here it comes. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Sounds particularly ominous, perhaps hinting at something new coming to the island.

Mancake appears particularly worried about something too, most likely the Zero Point, as he’ll now say: “Was this thing always so… unstable?”

Deadfire will also say: “Mysterious things have been happening ’round these parts.”

It’s clear that Fortnite’s characters are sensing something big is coming, and it’s likely to do with the Zero Point. As we approach the end of Season 5, expect even more strange things to occur on the Fortnite Chapter 2 Island.

Season 4 largely ignored the overarching Fortnite plot so the Galactus threat could be dealt with, but now it appears that the end of Season 5 and the launch of Season 6 will be extremely crucial to the story.
