New Warzone ‘Island’ teased for Black Ops Cold War

A new Warzone experience is coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

As part of the roadmap released by Activision and Treyarch, they’ve revealed first details on what to expect for Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War.

For Warzone fans, this will be a new ‘Classified Warzone experience’ is coming on December 10.

Here’s the roadmap, showcasing that:

What’s incredibly important about that image is what it teases in the redacted texts.

It says ‘Island’ with a Russian word before it that translates the phrase to ‘Rebirth Island.’

In Call of Duty world, that’s a direct reference to Alcatraz.

It’s not fully clear if Alcatraz will be the new island as is from the Black Ops 4 experience, but it’s interesting to showcase that it could be a new version of it for the Warzone experience.

Many fans were expecting a new, large map for Warzone immediately with Black Ops Cold War. But we may get a smaller scaled Island to kick off the new season.

The new map will arrive December 10 alongside Black Ops Cold War’s first season and full integration with Warzone.

Black Ops Cold War Season 2 Menu

The Season 2 update for Black Ops Cold War includes beautiful new menus for players to navigate, with a secret feature that content creators and artists will love.

Black Ops Cold War Season 2 just keeps on giving to players. Besides brand new weapons, maps, Warzone content, and Zombies Outbreak mode, we also have an updated menu UI that brings players a treat.

If you idle in the Multiplayer menu for over 30 seconds, you will notice the entire UI disappears, leaving only your stylish player traveling through the jungle environment, leaving a perfect setting for a screenshot to be taken.

We’re sure players will come up with plenty of cool showcases for their new skins when season 2 drops, with accessories such as reactive camos and weapon charms front and center when the official content releases on February 25.

If you’d like to change the featured weapon your operator is holding, be sure to navigate to your create-a-class menu, highlight the loadout you want to feature and hit R3 on PS4/PS5, RS on Xbox, or right click on PC.

Your primary weapon will be the one your character holds by default and will include all stickers and cosmetics applied to the weapon for the showcase.

Be sure to tweet your characters to us @CharlieIntel on Twitter, so we can see what stylish customizations you’re rocking.

Cold War Zombies DLC 2 may take place in Berlin according to intel

An intel log in the Season 2 update for Black Ops Cold War seems to tease the location for the DLC 2 Zombies map.

Black Ops Cold War Zombies

An intel log in the Season 2 update for Black Ops Cold War may be confirming the location of the next main-line Zombies DLC for players.

With the release of Black Ops Cold War Season 2 and the brand new open-world Zombies Outbreak mode, players are already looking towards the release of the next Zombies map in the Black Ops universe.

In a discovery by Reddit user DiscoCrows, it appears there is now an audio log intel that references Berlin, speculated to be the next location for the future DLC 2 Zombies map.

In the recording, a Requiem station chief Heinrich Meyer talks of a developing situation in Berlin, where Dr. Valentina from Omega group was spotted in the city. There is a worry that her presence means that there will perhaps be an outbreak in a live populated city. Normally, Omega would operate in the shadows.

This isn’t the first time the Zombies community have speculated about Berlin, with a leak releasing as early as September on Reddit speaking about the addition of a Zombies map set in the city.

If you’ve completed the Firebase Z easter egg, there’s a good chance the audio log is available now for you to listen to, titled “Focal Point.” According to a comment by DiscoCrows, you may also have access to another audio log called “More Bad News” that speaks about an operation in the Ural Mountains.

For now, we’ll just have to wait for more official communication for Treyarch, or perhaps more audio logs that unlock in-game to confirm our suspicions. With the release of the new Outbreak mode this season, it could be some time until we see another Zombies map added to Black Ops Cold War.
