A few months ago, the website ModernWarfare3.com made the headlines when it began forwarding all traffic to the official website of Battlefield 3. It also got the attention of Modern Warfare 3’s publisher Activision, who ended up filing a complaint with the National Arbitration Forum.

Well now it looks like the complaint has been resolved, Fusible reported today that a panel has sided with Activision and ordered control of the domain transferred to the publisher. Currently the site was down.

ModernWarfare3.com stated in their defense that the URL forward was a “temporary mistake”, and was not doing it in “bad faith”.

Originally ModernWarfare3.com called itself “a 100 percent unofficial fan site dedicated to the Modern Warfare series”. The site had then changed their stance to criticize the next Call of Duty installment when Activision attempted to get control of the URL a few months ago..
